  • Patent number: 5516101
Abstract: A game racket handle comprises a shaft extending from a head frame of a game racket and a hand grip attached movably to the rear end of the shaft. An elastic bushing is disposed between the shaft and the hand grip. The hand grip is of hollow construction and is so dimensioned as to receive therein an elastic element which is fitted over the rear end of the shaft. Located at the rear end of the shaft is a through slot which is dimensioned to receive therein an insertion pin for locating the hand grip and which has a length corresponding to a maximum moving distance of the hand grip in the direction of the axis of the shaft. When the head frame of the game racket hits the ground accidentally, the impact force transmitted from the head frame to the shaft is dispersed in the direction of the axis of the shaft, without being transmitted to the hand grip.

  • Patent number: 5350178
Abstract: A board game simulating an automobile race for one or more players includes a flexible game board with a first race track depicted on one side and a second, generally smaller, track on the opposite side. A textured track surface on preferred embodiments enables playing cars to remain in place if the flexible game board is placed on uneven or banked support surfaces to simulate real-life tracks. A plurality of charts determine the course and type of movement along either track, responsive to the roll of one or more dice, each die being of a distinct color to indicate a specific chart. Novel rules for playing require decision making and strategy, thus creating a realistic environment of racing, changing with each play of the game.

  • Patent number: 5324029
Abstract: A practice sports racket and ball in combination is disclosed. The racket has an elastic member stretched over both sides of the frame. The elastic member is partly covered with the hook fasteners of hook and loop fastener material and the ball is covered with the loop fasteners of hook and loop fastener material. The center of this practice sports racket, sometimes referred to as the "sweet spot" is void of any hook fastener material. In practice, if the ball hits the "sweet spot", it will rebound as a normal hit. However, if the ball is off center, it will be contained as the loop fastener material on the ball makes contact with the hook fastener material on the practice sports racket.

  • Patent number: 5306017
Abstract: The invention is a game of tactics and strategy, played on a special ten-square by ten-square checkered board of 100 alternately colored squares, with twenty pieces likened to figures of the American Civil War, on each of two opposing sides. Twenty Civil War playing pieces are alloted to each opposing player. While many of those pieces have traditional chess-type playing moves and capture strategy, some of the pieces, such as a gunboat on each side, have particularly unique moves that have no parallel in conventional chess. For example, a gunboat may not enter a thirty-six square restricted zone located at the interior of the board. A gunboat may, however, capture pieces within this restricted zone. Players, including the President, may board the gunboat, and with the President aboard the gunboat's moveability is the combination of the gunboat and the President's normal moves.
