  • Patent number: 10738485
Abstract: It is the object of the present invention to improve the stability of temporary corner guards. The Improved Temporary Corner Guard achieves enhanced stability through strategic selection of total device mass, mass distribution, and frictional properties of the selected materials. The Improved Temporary Corner Guard has a total device mass that is higher than commercially available corner guards. The device mass is strategically distributed, with the bulk of the weight residing in the base portion of the device. The device may also employ materials or coatings that have a higher coefficient of friction when placed against the outside corners, which would further enhance the ability to resist being upset if a lateral force is applied during use.

  • Patent number: 10694807
Abstract: The concept of “Show Stopper Shoe Topper” is a covering to be positioned atop the heels of women's shoes to provide added strength and support while protecting this component of the footwear. The footwear accessory could provide wearers with added comfort as well as an eye-catching addition to the shoe. This protective product would consist of a cylindrical sleeve, produced from a durable rubber, which would rest atop the heel. Positioned upon the bottom of the “Show Stopper Shoe Topper” would be a circular base. I envision this product would be in the shape of a wine glass stem. I would be possible to produce the “Show Stopper Shoe Topper” in sizes to accommodate various styles and sizes of women's footwear. The “Show Stopper Shoe Topper” could be produced in heights from 2 to 10 inches with the width measuring 1/16 to ¾ inch.

  • Patent number: 10669729
Abstract: A tool (FIG. 1) that assists in the placement and fastening together of pieces of material. The invention is comprised of valleys into which said pieces are placed. Said valleys have openings (portals) so that the exposed face of one piece can be aligned flush with the exposed face of another piece. The portals also allow an adequate means of fastening such as nails, screws, adhesive, etc. to be used to fasten them together at a predetermined angle. The invention may have multiple protruding valleys extending from a main valley, so that a base piece of material may have several pieces of material fastened to it—such as in framing the studs of a wall unit—without measuring distances or angles between pieces, thus saving considerable time, labor, and money.

  • Patent number: 10657609
Abstract: According to some embodiments, a thermostat obtains real-time energy prices from a electricity grid. It may also obtain additional data from external data sources, such as predicted energy prices or weather predictions. The thermostat attempts to find a control strategy for when to switch available aggregates that may include furnaces and air conditioners on and off. In order to solve this integer programming problem, the thermostat uses a random search algorithm. According to some embodiments, various data sources, such as day-ahead prices and real-time prices, are combined into forecasts of electricity prices for the present and future time periods. In some embodiments, a thermostat selects predictively between heating or cooling by letting outside air in or by using heating and cooling aggregates. Additional embodiments are discussed and shown.
