  • Patent number: 6796320
Abstract: The triangular, wedge shaped erectable shelter includes a canopy and a leg assembly supporting the canopy. A perimeter truss linkage assembly is connected to the leg assembly, and each of the perimeter truss pairs includes first and second link members pivotally connected together in a scissors configuration, with the outer end of each first link member connected to the upper end of a leg, and the outer end of each second link slidably connected to the leg. The shelter includes a flexible pole member removably mountable to the upper end of at least one of the legs of the shelter to extend across the shelter and support the canopy of the shelter. The flexible pole member is preferably removably mounted in an indexing hole in a bracket affixed to the upper end of at least one of the legs.

  • Patent number: 6748962
Abstract: An apparatus and method is disclosed for providing a collapsible support structure strut, which may include a strut member; a hollow tubular terminal end portion of the strut member having an inner surface; and a detachable looped eyelet having at least one loop and a pair of extending legs, the legs being springedly biased to engage the tubular terminal end of the strut, thereby frictionally holding the looped eyelet in place at the terminal end of the strut. The apparatus and method may also employ a holding plug, with first and second holding groove opposingly placed in the periphery of the holding plug, having at least a portion thereof that is shaped and sized to frictionally engage the inner surface of the tubular terminal end of the strut, to frictionally hold the holding plug in engagement with the strut. The detachable looped eyelet may also have at least two loops.

  • Patent number: 5469670
Abstract: A roof drain for draining rainwater from a roof. A bell-like strainer is supported by a compression/tension unit including resilient means, which unit is in turn mounted to a drainage sleeve that communicates with a leader. The strainer is secured to the drainage sleeve by a threaded bolt that passes through bores in the strainer and the compression/tension unit, and engages a nut received by the resilient means. Tightening the bolt moves the strainer downwardly into a substantially watertight fit with roofing membrane interposed between a skirt of the strainer and a collar on the drainage sleeve. The resilient means, which may be resilient material, a spring or the like, provides continuous tension between the strainer and the drainage sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5394657
Abstract: My invention relates to an improvement of a siphon head for use on a flat roof for a building having a recessed drain. The drain includes an inverted cup-shaped drain member with peripherally spaced elongated drain slots. The siphon head is comprised of a soft pliable elastomeric material including a relatively flat foot flange adapted to rest flatwise on a roof to be drained, and a dome shaped head portion centrally located and integrally formed with the relatively flat foot flange. The relatively flat foot flange extends outwardly in a relatively flat plane beyond the head portion and surrounding the head portion in all directions. The head portion is open on its top side providing an annular edge for nested engagement with the drain with a portion of the elongated slots lying below the edge, and other portions of the elongated slots lying above the edge. The edge is in snug nested engagement with the drain while the relatively foot flange is supported on the flat roof.
