Abstract: A system and a method that employs Extended Access Barring (EAB) when a Machine Type Communication (MTC) device performs an attempt to access an evolved Node B (eNB) in a wireless communication system are provided. When User Equipment (UE) supporting MTC, an MTC device, performs an attempt to access a network, the system and method determines whether it can access the network and performs the access procedure. The system and method can control the operations of UE that performs an attempt to access a network, thereby preventing excessive access.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a memory controller; a first memory device coupled to the memory controller; a second memory device coupled to the memory controller, the second memory device being a different type of memory from the first memory device; and a conversion circuit between the memory controller and the second memory device. The memory controller is configured to send a first command and first data to the first memory device according to a first timing scheme to access the first memory device, and send a second command and a packet to the conversion circuit according to the first timing scheme to access the second memory device. The conversion circuit is configured to receive the second command and the packet, and access the second memory device based on the second command and the packet.

Abstract: A computer controlled locomotive brake (CCB) configured for setting and releasing the retainer valves of the railcars of a train. The CCB may initially recharge the brake pipe to a pressure slightly less than the retainer valve release pressure. The CCB may then continue charging to this level until the brake pipe flow, measured at the CCB on the controlling locomotive and the brake pipe pressure on the last car, as measured by an end of train device, indicate that the pressure in the braking system reservoirs are substantively equal to the brake pipe pressure. Once the reservoirs are substantively charged, the CCB may complete the brake release and recharge by recharging the brake pipe pressure to its final charge so that all retainer valves are released and the train has sufficient braking system recharge to safely control movement of the train.

Abstract: In group-wise interleaving, interleaving of an LDPC code having a code length N of 64800 bits and an encoding rate r of 5/15 is performed in a unit of a bit group of 360 bits. In group-wise deinterleaving, an arrangement of the LDPC code that has undergone group-wise interleaving is returned to an original arrangement. The technology can be applied to a case of transmitting data using the LDPC code. The data processing device and data processing method can ensure excellent communication quality in data transmission using an LDPC code.

Abstract: A method for operating a list in a mobile terminal is disclosed. An example method includes displaying a first set of items from an item list in the mobile terminal, changing the item list based on a received command, determining a direction of most recent movement in the item list before the receiving of the command, determining items from the item list to display according to the determined direction and the change of the item list, and displaying the determined items from the item list.

Abstract: A method for alleviation of congestion in a mobile communications network includes detecting congested cells in the mobile communications network, identifying subscribers with active data sessions in the congested cells; and optimizing bandwidth usage for at least one of the identified subscribers. A bandwidth optimization system includes a network sampling interface to receive at least subscriber, cell and data session identifiers from a network data packet sampler, where the sampler identifies the identifiers from internal data traffic within a mobile communications network, and a network awareness engine (NAE) to at least cross reference the identifiers with external data traffic output by the mobile communications network to at least detect congested cells and associated subscriber data sessions emanating from the mobile communications network.

The non-destructive readout ferroelectric memory has a greatly increased read current in an on-state, and moreover, the data retention performance and data endurance performance are improved.

A master device includes a control module for generating a control signal according to a feedback signal. A packet encoding module is coupled to the control module for encoding an original packet to be a transmission packet according to the original packet and the control signal to process a transmission operation. A slave device includes a packet decoding module for decoding, the transmission packet to be the original packet or a related display device signal corresponding to the original packet to a display device. A feedback module is coupled to the packet decoding module for generating the feedback signal to the control module of the master device according to a decoding condition of the control module, so as to switch a transmission mode of the transmission operation.

Abstract: The disclosure is directed at a method and apparatus for configuring and powering light fixture loads for a LED low voltage distribution system. The method and apparatus include converting power being supplied for powering the set of light fixture loads and then limiting this converted power to a set of multiple current outputs supplied to the light fixture loads. The multiple current outputs are then split or regrouped prior to being delivered to the light fixture loads.

Abstract: It is provided a method of matching pairs of persons. The method includes receiving from the persons personal opinions on other persons, and based on a collaborative filtering algorithm, calculating from the personal opinions a first estimated opinion of a first person on a second person and a second estimated opinion of the second person on the first person. The method also includes matching the two persons in accordance with the estimated opinions and connecting them for a predetermined time duration. The first estimated opinions may be the estimated probability that the first person wants to be matched to the second person. The matching of the two persons is done in accordance with the product of the probabilities. Matching order is determined by a difference between a highest and a second highest product of a person in two different pairs.
