  • Patent number: 5813424
Abstract: An automatically extendible and retractable awning for a vehicle. Awning material is connected at one end to a recreational vehicle and at the other end to a roller assembly, said roller assembly which is movable between a stored position where the awning material is wrapped around the roller assembly and is positioned adjacent the recreational vehicle and an extended position where the awning material extends away from the recreational vehicle. Mechanism provides energy to the roller assembly to effectuate movement of the roller assembly between the extended and the stored positions. Two support arm assemblies, each being mounted at one end to the recreational vehicle and at the other end to the roller assembly are movable between a stored position where the support arm assemblies are close and generally parallel to the side of the recreational vehicle and an extended position where the support arm assemblies extend away from the recreational vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5809729
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus and method for attaching panel members to perimeter framing members to form a wall. The apparatus attaches the perimeter framing members to the panel member by an attachment member located between a surface of the panel member and a wall of a pocket of the perimeter framing member. To receive the attachment member, which is an elongated rod, the panel member and perimeter framing member form an elongated passage.

  • Patent number: 5566523
Abstract: A generally box-shaped wall panel construction includes a first pair of spaced and generally parallel side frame members each of which is of a generally channel or open shaped cross section with the open end facing in the first direction. Another pair of spaced and generally parallel side frame members form part of the construction and each is preferably of a box shaped cross section. The four side frame members constitute what might be referred to as generally a box shape when they are connected by first and second plates at the end of each side frame member. Specifically, the plates have four corners with the material of each corner being formed in the first and second tabs which facilitate spot welding of the ends of the side frame members to the plate with which it is associated. Another feature of the invention is the modification of tile plates so as to enable the wall panel construction to form a 90.degree.

  • Patent number: 5564237
Abstract: An earthquake resisting support construction which supports a structure at a required position on the surface of ground having a bearing capacity of soil large enough to withstand the weight of the structure, comprising, at each support position: a number of base-stones buried and arranged in the ground to provide a horizontal finished top surface; a cornerstone having parallel top and bottom surfaces and disposed on the number of base-stones to produce friction between the finished top surface of the base-stones and the bottom of the cornerstone; and a pedestal having a centrally-disposed void in its bottom and mounted on the cornerstone, with the marginal portion of its bottom held in frictional contact with the top of the cornerstone.

  • Patent number: 5361557
Abstract: A brick for use in a high temperature furnace, or the like, having a body portion with at least one tongue and groove pair in at least one of the body surfaces with anchor means formed integrally with the body portion. Tie-back brick assemblies are formed by mating at least two of such brick and clamping them together.A lining for use in such furnaces is formed by using such tie-back assemblies with conventionally shaped brick.
