  • Patent number: 10093292
Abstract: A brake system for a motor vehicle including front wheel brakes, rear wheel brakes, and a hydraulic system supplying hydraulic fluid to the wheel brakes. An electronic brake control connected to the hydraulic system actuates the hydraulic system to build up a brake pressure and supply the wheel brakes with the hydraulic fluid. The system includes a parking brake system that activates the rear wheel brakes. The electronic brake control actuates the hydraulic system to build up a brake pressure and at the beginning of an emergency braking procedure closes valves of the hydraulic system associated with the rear wheel brakes, opens valves of the hydraulic system associated with the front wheel brakes, and activates the parking brake system while keeping the valves of the hydraulic system associated with the rear wheel brakes closed for a period of adjustable length.

  • Patent number: 10086815
Abstract: An electric brake device includes an electric motor; a braking force application mechanism configured to apply a braking force on a vehicle wheel; a lock mechanism configured to assume one of a locked condition; a temperature sensor configured to measure an ambient temperature of a vehicle; and a freezing preventive power supply unit configured to initiate supply of an electric power to the electric motor or a drive source of the lock mechanism. The freezing preventive power supply unit interrupts the supply of the electric power to the electric motor or the drive source of the lock mechanism when the temperature detected by the temperature sensor exceeds a second preset temperature T2 that is higher than a first preset temperature T1.

  • Patent number: 10086673
Abstract: A wheel suspension unit is disclosed. The wheel suspension unit includes a stabilizer having a first end and a second end, a wheel suspension element, and a piston-cylinder unit. The piston-cylinder unit connects an end of the stabilizer to the wheel suspension element. The piston-cylinder unit is a roll damper. The roll damper includes a plurality of roll damping valves arranged in a piston of the roll damper. Each of the plurality of roll damping valves has a non-return valve and an adjustable throttle valve. The non-return valve is arranged in series with the adjustable throttle valve.

  • Patent number: 10054188
Abstract: A spring functional component for a hydroelastic bearing (1), comprising an inner mounting connection and comprising an outer mounting connection that radially surrounds the inner mounting connection, comprising a spring body which at least partially delimits at least two working chambers (21, 23) for receiving a damping fluid and which couples the inner mounting connection and outer mounting connection to one another in order to permit a relative movement between the inner mounting connection and the outer mounting connection, and comprising a supporting frame (7) which surrounds the inner mounting connection and which is composed of a rigid material such as plastic or metal, wherein each of the at least two working chambers (21, 23) issues into at least one radial opening which is open to the radially outer side of the spring functional component and which can be closed off by a connection part for coupling to the outer mounting connection, wherein at least one radially inwardly extending radial stop is fas

  • Patent number: 10036444
Abstract: A damping force controlling shock absorber can generate a hard damping force through disk slits during a low speed operation by adding a disk valve to a chamber, can constantly maintain a pressure of a back pressure compartment by opening a disk valve and discharge the pressure of the back pressure compartment to the outside when the pressure of the back pressure compartment is at a predetermined level or more, thereby generating a harder damping force during a low speed operation, and can adjust a disk valve open pressure during a medium/high speed operation so as to prevent the durability of the equipment from being lowered by an excessive increase of a pressure and prevent an abnormal operation from occurring.

  • Patent number: 6883648
Abstract: A mechanical disk brake for a bicycle is characterized in a thrust bearing included in a cam mechanism thereof to overcome the problem of a locked disk brake due to an overly large friction as frequently occurs in conventional mechanical disk brakes, and an eccentric force-application arm with an improved geometrical shape to create different arms of force that enables production of an enhanced tail braking force for the mechanical disk brake. The problem of largely reduced braking force occurs in conventional rim brakes in bad weather or in braking over a prolonged time, and the problem of self-locking frequently occurs in the conventional mechanical disk brakes.
