  • Patent number: 8636387
Abstract: A lighting fixture can dispose a light source in a recess of a ceiling or another surface while providing at least one of three adjustments that facilitates installation or post-installation setup. The first adjustment can support mounting the fixture to surfaces of differing thicknesses while maintaining the light source at a uniform recess depth. The second possible adjustment can facilitate rotating a visible portion of the fixture, typically an aperture or hole through which light transmits from the light source into a room or some other illuminated space. After the lighting fixture is attached to the ceiling, a user can rotate the aperture for alignment with another fixture or another object. The third possible adjustment can provide an illumination pattern that can be tilted to various angles or oriented in various directions according to user preference or to establish a desired lighting effect.

  • Patent number: 8628218
Abstract: A lamp includes a supporting body and a lamp body. The supporting body is fixed to a support such as a ceiling. The supporting body defines a plurality of apertures each including a hole and a slot. The slot has a width less than a diameter of the hole. The lamp body includes a housing, a heat sink, a light source and a cover. The housing forms a plurality of protrusions each including a pole and a head. The head has a diameter larger than a width of the slot. The protrusions extend through the holes of the apertures and then are rotated into the slots, whereby the heads are located above the slots and engage with the supporting body. Thus, the lamp is suspended from the support. A resilient member is provided between the housing and the supporting body.

  • Patent number: 8579467
Abstract: A lighting assembly where the light from multiple LEDs is blended to provide uniform lighting over a wide area without bright spots or interference anomalies. The assembly has a metal base that defines a channel. The channel has a bottom surface and opposing side walls. An array of LEDs is mounted on a circuit board. The circuit board is mounted to the bottom surface of the channel. A panel of light diffusing material is suspended over the LED array between the opposing side walls of the channel. The light diffusing material is configured to have lenticules that run parallel to the alignment of the LEDs. The lenticules vary between regions of the panel. Light emitted by the LED array passes through, and is diffused by, the lenticules. The result is a uniform patch of light that does not have bright areas or dark areas.

  • Patent number: 8573826
Abstract: The present invention discloses a side-light type light guide plate assembly and a backlight module, which has a light guide plate and at least one reflector sheet. The light guide plate has a lower surface, a light output surface opposite to the lower surface, and at least one light input side surface connected between the lower surface and the light output surface. The reflector sheet is correspondingly disposed on at least one side surface of the light guide plate except for the light input side surface, while a medium layer is defined between the reflector sheet and the light guide plate. The refraction index of the medium layer is smaller than or equal to 1.12. By providing the air layer and the reflector sheet, light beam emitting out of a side of the light guide plate and going back to the light guide plate can meet conditions of total reflection, so as to prevent from generating a light leakage phenomenon at edges of the light guide plate.
