Abstract: Targeted Content solutions can be provided using a variety of techniques. Targeted Content can be provided in place of generic advertisements on a first device or on personal computing devices. Targeted Content can be presented during, or in place of, generic advertisements in Content (e.g., television content, streaming content, etc.). Targeted Content can include customized video content to improve a user's viewing experience and thereby provide increased revenue opportunities for advertisers and content providers. The video content and/or customized content that is provided to a user can be paused or substituted to permit customized content to be delivered to the user. The video content and/or customized content can be of sporting events, and can facilitate and improve participation in a Fantasy Sports league.

Abstract: A geolocationing system and method for providing awareness in a multi-space environment, such as a hospitality environment or educational environment, are presented. In one embodiment of the geolocationing system, a vertical and horizontal array of gateway devices is provided. Each gateway device includes a gateway device identification providing an accurately-known fixed location within the multi-space environment. Each gateway device includes a wireless transceiver that receives a beacon signal from a proximate wireless-enabled personal locator device. The gateway devices, in turn, send gateway signals to a server, which determines an estimated location of the wireless-enabled personal locator device.

Abstract: A technique capable of allowing a reception side to easily select components is provided. A transport stream in which a first transport packet including predetermined components and a second transport packet including signaling information related to the predetermined components are time-division multiplexed is transmitted via a predetermined transport path. Component selection information is inserted in the second transport packet. The component selection information includes information on a selective layer in which static selection is performed, information on a composite layer in which composition is performed, and information on an adaptive layer in which dynamic switching is performed, and these layers being arranged in that order from top to bottom.

Abstract: A method and encoding system for reducing artifacts in a digital video sequence of image frames. The method acquires a current frame of the digital video sequence, and retrieves a previous frame of the digital video sequence from a frame delay. The method applies a recursive temporal filter to the current frame and the previous frame to generate a filtered frame. The method then applies a mixer to the current frame and the filtered frame to generate an output frame. The method stores the output frame in the frame delay.

At a server, obtaining first media content from a client device, herein the first media content corresponds to a portion of media content being played on the client device, and the first media content is associated with a predefined expiration time; obtaining second media content from one or more content feeds, wherein the second media content also corresponds to a portion of the media content being played on the client device; in accordance with a determination that the second media content corresponds to a portion of the media content that has been played on the client device: before the predefined expiration time, obtaining third media content corresponding to the media content being played on the client device, from the one or more content feeds; and comparing the first media content with the third media content.

The synchronization server may be arranged to: (i) determine a source average latency for the source device and a target average latency for each of the at least one target device; and (ii) determine, for each of the at least one target device, based on the source average latency and the respective target device's target average latency, a global time offset usable to synchronize playing of the media item thereof up to a predetermined accuracy.
