Patent number: 6852266Abstract: A method and apparatus for ultrasonic assisted deposition of a release agent onto a workpiece is disclosed. The release agent can be any fluorinated or non-fluorinated phosphorous-containing organic acid. The workpiece can be any workpiece desired to be coated with the release agent, such as a surface needing an anti-stick coating required in a plastic casting or injection mold. Metal oxide workpiece surfaces strongly bond to fluorinated phosphorus-containing organic acids. In particular, the present invention can deposit anti-stick coatings onto smooth or porous surfaces, such as anodized aluminum and its alloys, using ultrasonic assisted deposition.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2001Date of Patent: February 8, 2005Assignee: Korry Electronics Co.Inventors: Timothy R. Patent number: 6848391Abstract: A system for coating particulate material with temperature-sensitive materials is provided with heated containers, each having a continuous loop of supply and return lines. Each continuous loop is coupled with a spray manifold that is positioned closely adjacent a mixing vessel. The temperature-sensitive fluid is pumped through the continuous loops to maintain the desired temperature when the fluid is not being applied to the particulate material within the vessel. The separate loops prevent undesired cross-contamination. A simple scale assembly is used for metering out the fluid.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2003Date of Patent: February 1, 2005Inventor: James M. Patent number: 6849129Abstract: The paint-spraying apparatus exhibits a supply line 7 for coating material, extending from the color changer to the atomizer. Cut-off valves 26, 27 installed in the supply line delimit an insulating section 25 of said supply line, which insulating section is associated with means 28 to 32 for emptying and flushing said insulating section 25. A voltage divider 16 is connected in parallel to said insulating section 25. When colors are changed, the residual coating material present in said voltage divider 16 can be moved into the empty insulating section 25, after which it is forced by means of slugs back through the entire supply line 7 to the color changer 1, and is thus reclaimed.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2003Date of Patent: February 1, 2005Assignee: LacTec GmbHInventors: Burkhard Bilz, Udo Klein, Joachim Kunkel, Winfried Ott

Patent number: 6835268Abstract: The present invention discloses an improved method for transferring an image onto an object which has a surface that curves in two directions. After providing a source containing an image capable of thermal transfer, a target surface is chosen on the object and a chemical coating is applied. The image is then pressed into the coated target surface until the target surface is substantially flat and heated so that the image is transferred to the target surface. The coating allows the image to be transferred at a low temperature. In a preferred embodiment, after the source is removed, a second application of heat is applied to the object to drive the image into the object. A protective material may be positioned between the heating element and the image, especially before the second application of heat.Type: GrantFiled: December 24, 2002Date of Patent: December 28, 2004Assignee: Star Innovations, L.C.Inventor: Marshall Widman

Patent number: 6833028Abstract: In a method for depositing particles onto a substrate a flow of gas containing particles is provided along a flow path that bypasses a deposition chamber. The flow path may direct the flow of the gas containing the particles to a vacuum. To deposit particles onto a substrate in the deposition chamber, the flow path of the gas containing the particles is diverted into the deposition chamber so that particles are deposited onto the substrate. After a desired amount of particles have been deposited onto the substrate, the flow path of the flow of the gas containing the particles is changed to the flow path that bypasses the deposition chamber. A particle deposition system and a method for maintaining particle diameter during deposition of particles onto a substrate also are described.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2002Date of Patent: December 21, 2004Assignee: The Scatter Works Inc.Inventors: Craig A. Patent number: 6824616Abstract: The present invention relates to a processing method for processing a substrate, and comprises a step of coating a coating solution on a surface of the substrate while relatively moving a coating solution discharge nozzle and the substrate and discharging the coating solution from the nozzle onto the substrate. Thereafter, the substrate is exposed to a solvent atmosphere of the coating solution or the pressure is temporarily applied thereto in a container. Thereafter, the pressure inside the container in which the substrate is housed is reduced to dry the coating solution on the substrate. According to the present invention, it is possible to narrow the so-called edge cutting width, which is at a periphery part of the substrate and is not commercialized, and to maintain an in-plane uniformity of the coating film.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 2002Date of Patent: November 30, 2004Assignee: Tokyo Electron LimitedInventors: Takahiro Kitano, Shinichi Sugimoto, Shinji Kobayashi, Naoya Hirakawa, Akira Fukutomi, Nobukazu Ishizaka

Patent number: 6759086Abstract: The present invention is directed to an improved method and apparatus for the application of powdered resins to threaded fasteners. In accordance with the present invention, the powdered resin handling system used to apply, collect, recycle and make-up the resin is generally enclosed; that is, with the exception of the application of the resin to the fasteners, the resin is generally maintained within conduit, housings or hoppers that are not open to the surroundings. This tends to minimize discharge of resin into the areas surrounding the fastener processing equipment and also isolates the resin from external environmental conditions that tend to degrade the resin over time. In addition, the present invention introduces fresh, new or make-up resin in a manner that assures intimate and thorough intermixing of the new and recycled resin while minimizing the cost and complexity of the equipment employed for that purpose.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 2003Date of Patent: July 6, 2004Assignee: Nylok CorporationInventors: Anthony Dimaio, Mike Arslanouk
