  • Patent number: 9033695
Abstract: An injection interface device comprising a wedge having a first surface mountable over the joint between the mold and the terminal element and a second surface being inclined with respect to the first surface. A fixation element is mountable against the second surface and an attachment element. The device is configured so that it avoids or prevents the movement of the wedge in a direction parallel to the mold and the movement of the fixation element in a direction perpendicular to the mold so that a displacement of the fixation element parallel to the mold makes a displacement of the wedge in a direction perpendicular to the mold so that the wedge presses against the terminal element to seal it.

  • Patent number: 9028241
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for automatic and hands-free threading of an elastomeric mix into a calender set of rolls comprising one or more pairs of rolls that have a nip between them. A stripper roll is positioned next to one of the rolls forming the nip and is rotated so that the outer surface of the stripper roll moves in a direction opposite to the outer surface of the adjacent roll. The stripper roll removes all or a desired portion of the elastomeric mix from the adjacent roll and causes the same to transfer to another roll. Variables such as e.g., the relative surface speed of the stripper roll, diameter of the stripper roll, and distance of the outer surface of the stripper roll from the adjacent roll can be manipulated to control the amount of the elastomeric mix that is stripped by the stripper roll.

  • Patent number: 9022767
Abstract: An injection molding machine is provided with an automatic mold thickness adjusting apparatus. The amount of compensation of the position of a rear platen that is adjusted at the time of installation of a mold is determined by calculating the thermal expansion of the mold that is expected to occur at the completion of a rise in temperature based on the difference in temperature between the mold temperature at the time of mold thickness adjustment and the mold temperature at the time of injection molding. Then, the rear platen is moved to the compensated position thus determined.
