  • Patent number: 10382739
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention relate generally to systems and methods for analyzing and manipulating images and video. In particular, a multi-view interactive digital media representation (MVIDMR) of an object can be generated from live images of an object captured from a camera. After the MVIDMR of the object is generated, a tag can be placed at a location on the object in the MVIDMR. The locations of the tag in the frames of the MVIDMR can vary from frame to frame as the view of the object changes. When the tag is selected, media content can be output which shows details of the object at location where the tag is placed. In one embodiment, the object can be car and tags can be used to link to media content showing details of the car at the locations where the tags are placed.

  • Patent number: 10368009
Abstract: The present technology relates to an imaging apparatus capable of offering useful information with higher certainty. An imaging apparatus includes an optical system that condenses light received from a subject, an imaging device that photoelectrically converts the light received from the optical system to form a pickup image, and a cover glass disposed between the optical system and the imaging device to protect a surface of the imaging device. The cover glass is disposed obliquely to the imaging device. When stray light corresponding to light reflected on the imaging device enters the cover glass as a part of light having entered the imaging device via the optical system and the cover glass, this stray light is reflected on the cover glass toward a low harmful area of the imaging device. Accordingly, flares generated by stray light decreases in a recognition useful area. The present technology is applicable to an on-vehicle camera, a ceiling type monitoring camera, or others.

  • Patent number: 10326989
Abstract: A method of partitioning in video coding for JVET, comprising representing a JVET coding tree unit as a root node in a quadtree plus binary tree (QTBT) structure that can have quadtree or binary partitioning of the root node and quadtree or binary trees branching from each of the leaf nodes. The partitioning at any depth can use asymmetric binary partitioning to split a child node represented by a leaf node into two child coding units of unequal size, representing the two child coding units as leaf nodes in a binary tree branching from the parent leaf node and coding the child coding units represented by final leaf nodes of the binary tree with JVET. Disclosed is a generalized method of partitioning a block, either square or rectangular, which leads to more flexible block sizes with possible higher coding efficiency.

  • Patent number: 10322801
Abstract: The delivery of a package using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) may include performing a surveillance action at a property of an authorized party. The surveillance action may include imaging the property, and may be performed before or after the package is delivered. Surveillance data such as image data gathered in a surveillance action may be modified to remove or obscure adjacent properties not associated with the property of the authorized party. Based on surveillance data, the probability or confidence value of a surveillance event may be determined and a surveillance alert may be generated. Surveillance actions may be scheduled by a central controller to ensure that the surveillance action may be performed without exhausting the resources, such as battery power or time, of the UAV. Surveillance actions may be received as an interrupt and may have an associated priority level.

  • Patent number: 10326996
Abstract: Rate control techniques are provided for encoding an input video sequence into a compressed coded bitstream with multiple coding passes. The final coding pass may comprise final splices with non-overlapping frames that do not extend into neighboring final splices. A final splice in the final coding pass may correspond to at least one non-final splice in a non-final coding pass. A non-final splice may have overlapping frames that extend into neighboring final splices in the final coding pass. The overlapping frames in the non-final splice may be used to derive complexity information about the neighboring final splices. The complexity information about the neighboring final splices, as derived from the overlapping frames, may be used to allocate or improve rate control related budgets in encoding the final splice into the compressed coded bitstream in the final coding pass.

  • Patent number: 10313638
Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) may perform a surveillance action at a property of an authorized party. The property may be defined by a geo-fence, which may be a virtual perimeter or boundary around a real-world geographic area. The UAV may image the property to generate surveillance images, and the surveillance images may include image data of objects inside the geo-fence and image data of objects outside the geo-fence. While gathering surveillance images, or after the surveillance images have been gathered, the geo-fence information may be used to obscure or remove image data referring to objects outside the geo-fence. Geo-clipped surveillance images may be generated by physically constraining a sensor of the UAV, by performing pre-image capture processing, or post-image capture processing. Geo-clipped surveillance images may be limited to authorized property, so privacy is ensured for private persons and property.

  • Patent number: 10298958
Abstract: The present technology relates to an image processing device and an image processing method which allow a deblocking filtering process to apply filtering appropriately. A pixel (p0i) of which the value is 255 (solid line) before a deblocking process changes greatly to 159 (dot line) after a conventional deblocking process. Therefore, a clipping process having a clipping value of 10 is performed in strong filtering, whereby the pixel (p0j) of which the value is 255 (solid line) before the deblocking process becomes 245 (bold line). Thus, a change in the pixel value occurring in the conventional technique can be suppressed as much as possible. This disclosure can be applied to an image processing device, for example.
