Methods for manufacturing the dental veneer include curing the composite with heat and light under pressure followed by laser treating the facial surface of the veneer to form a smoother facial surface. Filler particles at the facial surface of the veneer can be melted and/or coalesced together to form a continuous glass surface, which is more natural looking and better resembles natural tooth material as compared to ceramic veneers or other composited veneers lacking surface treatment.

The belt mold has a plurality of compression layer-shape grooves arranged adjacent to one another in an axial direction of the belt mold. The shaped structure is crosslinked by heating and pressing the shaped structure toward the mandrel while each of compression layer-forming portions, which are comprised of the plurality of ridges of the shaped structure, is fitted in an associated one of the compression layer-shape grooves of the belt mold, thereby molding a cylindrical belt slab.

The edge breather includes a body, ridges disposed along a length of the body that each define an arc which is perpendicular to a lengthwise axis of the body, and openings disposed along the body that enable air to enter a hollow interior that runs along the length of the body. The arcs defined by the ridges resist compressive loads applied to the edge breather and prevent the hollow interior from collapsing under pressure applied to the edge breather by a vacuum bag during manufacturing of the composite part.
