  • Patent number: 10880344
Abstract: Embodiments include technologies for creating a manifest for a conferencing event in a network, adding a name tag identifying the conferencing event to the manifest, receiving an interest packet including one or more parameters indicating a named flow being produced at a source node, adding content metadata of the named flow to the manifest, and sending the manifest to the source node. Further embodiments include adding, to the manifest, session-level metadata associated with a user of the source node. Embodiments include receiving a second interest packet with one or more second parameters identifying a user of a client node, where the second interest packet indicates a request to authorize the user of the client node to subscribe to the conferencing event. In further embodiments, session-level metadata associated with the user is added to the manifest if the user is authorized to subscribe to the conferencing event.

  • Patent number: 10880410
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for payload compression are disclosed. In one aspect, a determination is made that one or more fields of a packet to be transmitted are compressible based on a compression table. Prior to transmitting the packet and in response to the determination, the one or more fields of the packet are compressed based on the compression table. Compressing the one or more fields of the packet includes removing the one or more fields from the packet to generate a compressed packet. One or more bits in a header of the compressed packet are modified to indicate at least one compression entry in the compression table associated with the compression performed on the compressed packet.

  • Patent number: 10868860
Abstract: An information processing device includes a processor that repeats, for a predetermined time period, transmission of an inspection signal to a first device and reception of load information in response to the inspection signal. The processor calculates, for each load of the first device, a threshold value of a response time based on the load information and a response time. The processor distributes, to the first device and a second device, requests for the first device when a response time of the first device after the predetermined time period elapses exceeds a threshold value corresponding to a load. The processor determines whether to switch from the first device to the second device based on a result obtained by comparing a first load of the first device with a second load of the second device after the requests are distributed to the first device and the second device.

  • Patent number: 10819821
Abstract: The present technology provides a new content-based centrality metric that may be used for allocating content to caches in a network. The proposed method for measuring centrality and allocating content not only considers the topology of the network, but also the distribution of cache spaces and content among the cache spaces in the network in order to improve how content may be allocated. This approach to content allocation enables improved content retrieval in the form of higher cache hit rates, lower delays and improved network performance.

  • Patent number: 10820066
Abstract: Reconciling Adaptive Bitrate (ABR) segments across redundant sites may be provided. First, a working manifest may be set to match a primary downstream manifest and the working manifest may be updated using an auxiliary downstream manifest. Next, first segments missing from the working manifest as identified during updating the working manifest using the auxiliary downstream manifest may be copied from the auxiliary downstream manifest to the primary downstream manifest. The working manifest may then be updated using a primary upstream manifest. And then second segments missing from the working manifest as identified during updating the working manifest using the primary upstream manifest may be copied from the primary upstream manifest to the primary downstream manifest.

  • Patent number: 10819783
Abstract: Various aspects provide for managing memory in virtual computer system. For example, a system can include a first network node and a second network node. The first network node receives a data packet via a first hardware network controller. The first network node also transmits the data packet over a communication channel via a second hardware network controller in response to a determination that memory data for the data packet is not mapped to the first network node. The second network node receives the data packet via the communication channel and provides the data packet to an operating system associated with the first network node and the second network node.

  • Patent number: 10791023
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes transmitting, by a node of a network, a first configuration file to a plurality of active nodes of the network and receiving, by the node of the network, a vote from one or more of the plurality of active nodes of the network. Each vote is generated by an active node in response to the active node comparing the first configuration file received from the node to a second configuration file received from a system administrator. The method also includes determining, based on each vote received from each active node, a percentage of the plurality of active nodes of the network that voted to approve the first configuration file. The method further includes determining, by the node of the network, whether to activate the node based on the percentage of the plurality of active nodes that voted to approve the first configuration file.

  • Patent number: 10785321
Abstract: A service function chain (SFC) based multi-tenancy processing method. The disclosed method allows isolation between SFC enabled domains while facilitating aggregation of tenant related data sets from SFC packet flows of various service function paths (SFPs) through cross domain bridges (CDB) in SFC enabled domains, delegators in a demilitarized zone, and a tenant aware service function (TASF). A CDB serves as a service function (SF) in a SFP and also serves as a classifier forwarding SFC packets to the demilitarized zone. A CDB gateway serves as a classifier in a delegator receives the SFC packets from the CDB. The TASF collects information from the SFC packets.
