Abstract: A display device includes a prism sheet between a display cell and a light guiding plate. The prism sheet includes a plurality of prisms having a constant apex angle continuously arranged in a second direction on a surface thereof opposed to a light-exiting surface of the light guiding plate. Each of ridge lines of the prisms extends in a first direction. Each prism has a first inclined face on a side on which light from the light guiding plate is incident and a second inclined face on a side reflecting the incident light. An area of the first inclined face is made smaller than an area of the second inclined face, and an area of a light-emitting region in the prism sheet is made larger than an area of a non-light-emitting region.

Abstract: The partially lit T-bar includes a spine with a rest shelf at a lower portion thereof. The rest shelf supports adjacent ceiling tiles. The under surface of the rest shelf includes a lighting module on a portion and a plain unlit undersurface on other portions. Additional T-bars which are shorter, and typically fully lit or fully unlit and half the length of the partially lit T-bar are also provided which can attach at ends or near a midpoint of the partially lit T-bar and typically perpendicularly thereto. A great variety of lighting patterns in a dropped ceiling is thus facilitated. Each of the T-bars preferably also includes a heat sink on an upper portion of the spine and also preferably a lower heat sink on an upper portion of the rest shelf. Heat associated with the light element of the T-bar can thus be drawn away from a space below the ceiling.

  • Patent number: 10309627
Abstract: Retrofit systems and methods are disclosed for lighting installations, and in particular, to retrofit systems and methods used to retrofit troffer-style lighting installations with LED light sources. Retrofit systems can be used with different light fixtures, but those described are particularly adapted for use with troffer-style fixtures. These retrofit systems can provide the same amount of light as traditional light fixtures already do, for example 1600-4000 lumens or more. The retrofit systems can be used with many different light sources but are particularly well-suited for use with solid state light sources or light engines, such as those utilizing LEDs. Some embodiments of the present invention comprise a mechanical mounting system for installing an LED light engine within an existing lighting system housing or pan, such as a troffer pan, without penetrating the ceiling plenum.

  • Patent number: 10302988
Abstract: The display apparatus includes an optical sheet provided between a display panel and direct type light sources, and an inner chassis (support body) 4 having a frame-shape which supports the back surface of peripheral edge parts of the display panel. A light shielding member is provided over an entire periphery of the display panel at the back side of the peripheral edge part thereof. An outer frame part of the light shielding member is sandwiched between the display panel and the inner chassis, and an inner frame part of the light shielding member is sandwiched between the display panel and the optical sheet. Light passing through the optical sheet is shielded by the light shielding member even when trying to be leaked to an outside from the polarizing plate, such that the light is not leaked due to being shielded by the light shielding member. Therefore, the light is prevented from entering the peripheral edge part of the display panel, and an occurrence of light leakage is prevented.
