Abstract: For the vehicles of an interactive fairground ride, in particular a rollercoaster, control consoles are proposed which are equipped with a control button and a display unit and are assigned to each passenger. These control buttons and, if appropriate, the display units of all the control consoles, are connected by means of a transmitter, by radio or by cable, to an evaluation and control unit which detects the reaction times for all passengers and calculates a mean value, the collective reaction time, therefrom. A signal for starting the vehicle is not generated until after the expiry of the collective reaction time. In a fairground ride of this kind, the emphasis is on the interaction between all the passengers of a vehicle.
Abstract: A system for selectively disabling highway crossing equipment includes a timer for controlling a maximum out of service time for the highway crossing equipment, a switch for controlling disablement of the highway crossing equipment, and control circuitry responsive to the timer and the switch. The control circuitry disables the highway crossing equipment in response to an input received from the switch before the maximum out of service time has been reached and re-enables the highway crossing equipment in response to a subsequent input from the switch received before the maximum out of service time has been reached. The control circuitry places the highway crossing equipment in a failsafe condition when the maximum out of service time has been reached without receiving the subsequent input from the switch.

Abstract: A device for transmitting data and/or signals between a first car body of a multi-member vehicle mechanically connected a second car body. The device includes an interface element having at least one optical fiber transmission medium for a line-connected communication system of the vehicle. The interface element displaceable in the longitudinal coupling direction relative to a coupling head of the first car body from a first position, wherein the interface element with the optical fiber is fully accommodated in the coupling head of the first car body, into a second position and vice versa, wherein in the second position of the interface element, at least the frontal end region of the interface element projects from the coupling head of the first car body to establish a data connection between the optical fiber and a contact terminal of a coupling head of the second car body.
Abstract: According to some embodiments, a compression strut comprises a first strut body comprising a threaded end and a hollow end, and a second strut body comprising a threaded end and a shaped end. The hollow end of the first strut body is slidably coupled to the shaped end of the second strut body. A spring is disposed between the first strut body and the second strut body configured to resist longitudinal compression of the compression strut. The first strut body is rotationally coupled to the second strut body so that rotation of the first strut body also rotates the second strut body and rotation of the second strut body also rotates the first strut body. A first ball end is threaded to the first strut body and a second ball end is threaded to the second strut body.
Abstract: An apparatus for punching holes in posts in a transportation environment where the offset between the holes in the post and a vehicle running surface of a vehicle is constant over a transportation route. The apparatus has a frame and a hole forming assembly separate from one another, such that the hole forming assembly may be adjusted relative to the frame. The hole forming assembly can be adjusted relative to the frame and can be set at a specific offset between a location where the holes are to be formed in a post and the vehicle running surface. Once the offset is set, the apparatus maintains this offset for every post punched along the transportation route, so that there is a constant offset between the holes punched in the posts and the vehicle running surface.
