  • Publication number: 20080109528
Abstract: A customised Network Application suitable for a specific type of Wireless Computing Device is automatically generated and sent to that Device. The Application is able to download a preview of content on demand by an end-user from a Server that stores the content and to play the preview of the content. It can also display an option or function that enables the end-user to download and buy that content from the Server. Attributes for that type of Wireless Computing Device are defined as Metadata; attributes for various different kinds of mobile content are also defined as Metadata; the Server then determines what content is compatible with the Wireless Computing Device by comparing the Metadata of the content and the Wireless Computing Device. The kind of content that can be provided includes ringtones, wallpapers/pictures, screensavers, realtones/truetones, full music downloads, video, SMS & MMS alerts, and mobile games.

  • Patent number: 7368725
Abstract: There is described an optical radiation sensor device for detecting radiation in a radiation field. The device comprises a sensor element capable of detecting and responding to incident radiation from the radiation field and a radiation window interposed between the sensor element and the radiation field. The radiation window comprises a non-circular (preferably square) shaped radiation transparent opening. The optical radiation sensor device can be used in a so-called dynamic manner while mitigating or obviating the detection errors resulting from the use of a circular-shaped attenuating aperture and/or angular (even minor) misalignment of the sensor device with respect to the array of radiation sources when multiple such circular-shaped attenuating apertures are used.

  • Publication number: 20080101793
Abstract: Techniques for reestablishing network address associations upon recovery of a passive optical network (PON) disablement rely on storage address association information. A network node stores address association information in non-volatile memory upon detecting a network disablement. Upon recovery of the PON from the disablement, the network node associates network addresses to clients in accordance with the address association information. The network node may further verify the associations by sending ARP queries for the network addresses to the associated clients. Alternatively, the network nodes may reestablish the address associations by tracking the length of time of the network disablement, and updating address association information in accordance with the length of the disablement.

  • Publication number: 20080093084
Abstract: An electrical submersible pump (ESP) completion installed in casing perforated for water disposal and production. A packer separates the disposal zone and the production zone. An inverted ESP assembly is located inside of a canister. The ESP and canister are lowered on a tubing string into the casing. The canister has a downwardly extending canister extension flow-directing member that communicates with water in the casing and which passes through the disposal zone. Water is pumped down the canister extension member into the disposal zone and formation. Well fluids are drawn up the extension from the production zone. Various configurations are disclosed to facilitate flowing well fluids, e.g., oil-rich mixture or water, past the motor for cooling the motor of the inverted ESP while maintaining fluid segregation. The completion is particularly suited for production wells wherein the oil and water have a strong tendency to naturally segregate within the wellbore.
