Abstract: A system and method for calculating a quantitative operational risk score and assisting an organization in the risk decision-making process is disclosed. The method may include identifying a plurality of instances of operational risk relevant to the organization to scrutinize, and storing the list of instances of operational risk in computer memory. For each instance of operational risk, the system may provide a rating value for each risk rating input category, and storing the rating values in computer memory. A processor of the system may calculate an operational risk score for each instance of operational risk in the list, and generate/display a risk decision-making matrix/chart. In addition, the system may calculate a portfolio/aggregated operational risk score for each portfolio of related instances of operational risk, and generate/display a risk decision-making matrix/chart accordingly for the portfolio scores.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). Some implementations relate to methods and systems for partitioning FPGA circuit designs to facilitate certification. In one aspect, a method includes generating a hardware description language (HDL) implementation of a circuit design. The method additionally includes partitioning the design into a first portion and a second portion. In some implementations, the second portion corresponds to a safety-critical portion of the design while the first portion corresponds to a non-safety-critical portion. The method additionally includes generating first configuration settings for the first portion and generating second configuration settings for the second portion. The method additionally includes verifying, or providing to a third-party certification body for verification, the first configuration settings for the first portion and the second configuration settings for the second portion.

That is, a user may tag a search result (e.g., a website, an image, a social network profile, etc.), such as through a one-click user input, with a tag to create a tagged search result. The tagged search result may be organized into a public tag collection for sharing and/or exploration of tagged search results by other users. The tagged search result may be organized into a personal tag collection for later access by the user from any device. Because the tagged search result may be indicative of an interest of the user, targeted content associated with the tagged search result may be provided to the user.

The magazine loader includes an ammunition holder adapted for receiving and holding ammunition from a tray in the same arrayed configuration in which the ammunition was held in the tray. The magazine loader includes a holder adapted for holding ammunition in an array including multiple columns and rows. The magazine loader includes a carrier and a biasing member biasing the carrier for movement. The magazine loader includes a movable carrier and a stop. The stop engages ammunition held in the carrier for indexing movement of the carrier. The magazine loader includes a plunger oriented for plunging ammunition from the carrier in a direction transverse to a direction of travel of the carrier. The magazine loader includes a slot sized and shaped for receiving a round of ammunition and configured for permitting the round of ammunition to slide along a length of the slot.

Abstract: Auto-completion of an input partial line pattern. Upon detecting that the user has input the partial line pattern, the scope of the input partial line pattern is matched against corresponding line patterns from a collection of line pattern representations to form a scoped match set of line pattern representations. For one or more of the line pattern representations in the scoped match set, a visualization of completion options is then provided. For example, the corresponding line pattern representation might be displayed in a distinct portion of the display as compared to the input partial line pattern, or perhaps in the same portion in which case, in which case the remaining portion of the line pattern representation might extend off of the input partial line pattern representation.

Abstract: An ophthalmic lens assembly comprising an electronic system with a controller configured to implement a blink detection algorithm is described herein. The electronic system can also include one or more power sources, circuitry, one or more sensors, clock generation circuitry, control algorithms, and lens driver circuitry. The algorithm can be used to sample, at a predetermined rate, light incident on an eye of an individual and at least temporarily save collected samples, determine when an eyelid is open or closed, determine a time period and pulse width of the blinks from the collected samples, calculate a number of blinks and the duration of the blinks in a given time period, and compare the number of blinks, the durations of the blinks in the given time period, and the time between blinks in the given time period to a stored set of samples to determine blinking patterns.

Abstract: A system for targeting advertising content includes the steps of: (a) receiving respective requests for advertising content corresponding to a plurality of mobile communication facilities operated by a group of users, wherein the plurality includes first and second types of mobile communication facilities with different rendering capabilities; (b) receiving a datum corresponding to the group; (c) selecting from a first and second sponsor respective content based on a relevancy to the datum, wherein each content includes a first and second item requiring respective rendering capabilities; (d) receiving bids from the first and second sponsors; (e) attributing a priority to the content of the first sponsor based upon a determination that a yield associated with the first sponsor is greater than a yield associated with the second sponsor; and (f) transmitting the first and second items of the first sponsor to the first and second types of mobile communication facilities respectively.

Abstract: A pinned structure includes a first member having a first fastening feature extending through opposed surfaces of the first member for retainably receiving a portion of a pin therein. A second member having a surface includes a second fastening feature formed therein for receiving a portion of the pin extending from the first fastening feature for securing the first member and the second member together. The portion of the pin received by the second fastening feature is exposed relative to the surface of the second member. The pin is removable from the second fastening feature from a position along at least a surface of the first member opposite the second member and the surface of the second member exposing the pin.

Abstract: A method of encrypting sensor input entries for passcode entry security is disclosed. The method in one embodiment includes presenting a passcode entry interface on an electronic device for a user to input a passcode entry. The electronic device then receives an input event, which is indicative of at least part of the passcode entry by the user, from a sensor of the electronic device. The electronic device then encrypts a sensor value of the input event and transmits the encrypted sensor value to an external system over a network to cause the external system to decipher the passcode entry from the encrypted sensor value.

Abstract: Systems and methods for a modular ferrite switch for constructing switch networks are provided. In one implementation, a circulator redundancy network comprises multiple inputs; multiple outputs; and multiple circulator modules that connect the inputs to the outputs. A circulator module includes at least one module input connected to at least one input; at least one module output, where the number of module outputs equals the number of module inputs; multiple interconnection ports, configured to connect the circulator module to other circulator modules; and multiple circulators that route received signals between the at least one input, the at least one output, and the interconnection ports. Further, multiple interconnects connect the plurality of circulator modules to one another at the interconnection ports; and a circulator switch controller controls the direction of circulation for the plurality of circulators.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for generating wagers between a user of a user computing device and a multiple sportsbooks system is provided. The method is implemented by a host computing device coupled to a memory. The method includes receiving, by the host computing device, a first data feed from a first sportsbook and a second data feed from a second sportsbook. The first data feed includes first wagering data associated with an event and the second data feed includes second wagering data associated with the event. The method also includes providing a proposition to the user computing device based at least in part on the first wagering data and the second wagering data. The method further includes generating, by the host computing device, a wager between the user and the multiple sportsbook system. The wager is associated with the proposition.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for maximizing the utility of data obtained from multiple intersecting data structures and stored in a multi-dimension information space. The method includes the steps of generating a rigid mathematical structure within the multi-dimensional information space; dividing the rigid mathematical structure into segments, each segment having a volume determined by a time of access to the segment relative to an event, a duration of access to the segment and a quantity of data in the segment; and determining a sellable price point for each segment of the rigid mathematical structure based on the volume of the segment.

Abstract: Systems and methods for improving operation of a hybrid vehicle are presented. In one example, an engine may be operated at an idle speed while a driveline disconnect clutch separating the engine from a driveline is open in response to a reduction in driver demand torque. Engine torque may be applied to the driveline by simply closing the driveline disconnect clutch.

Abstract: The present invention provides for the manipulation of cofactor usage in a recombinant host cell to increase the formation of desirable products. In some embodiments, the invention provides for a recombinant microorganism comprising a mutation in one or more native enzymes such that their cofactor specificity is altered in such a way that overall cofactor usage in the cell is balanced for a specified pathway and there is an increase in a specific product formation within the cell. In some embodiments, endogenous enzymes are replaced by enzymes with an alternate cofactor specificity from a different species.

The process involves grouping various strains in an investment grade standard according to their specific characteristics and minimum expectations. Cannabis that conforms to the investment grade standard is interchangeable within a specific range according to an equivalent monetary bundling process. Cannabis subjected to the standard conform to a specified set of requirements that enables it to be used to create baskets of cannabis to form an index/benchmark for cannabis pricing, financial instruments, and a global investment grade standard that can be used for certifying cannabis as investment grade to ensure top measures of quality, consistency, and liquid market pricing. All forms of medical and recreational cannabis are included within the scope of this standard.

For example, a method includes performing one or more diagnostic operations on at least one portion of a user skin image to generate user skin image data, wherein the diagnostic operations are associated with an identified skin-related application. The processing includes identifying one or more sets of skin image data in a database that correspond to the user skin image data based on parameters specified by the skin-related application, and determining at least one image processing filter based on the sets of identified skin image data. The image processing filter is applied to the user skin image to generate a simulated user skin image.

Abstract: A simulator facilitating virtual welding activity. The simulator may include a logic processor based subsystem operable to generate an interactive welding environment in virtual reality space that emulates welding activity by simulating a virtual weld puddle having dynamic, real time molten metal fluidity and heat dissipation characteristics, responsive to performing a simulated welding activity in real time. The simulator may include a foot pedal device in operative communication with the logic processor based subsystem and configured to affect a characteristic of the virtual weld puddle in real time, responsive to user control of the foot pedal device. The simulator may be configured to track the movements of a mock welding tool and a mock filler wire and determine interaction between the virtual weld puddle, a corresponding virtual welding tool, and a corresponding filler wire in virtual reality space that would result in the welding tool becoming contaminated.
