Abstract: An annuloplasty band and method of implantation. The band is shaped and sized to avoid the adjacent aortic valve structure and better protects against dehiscence along the muscular mitral annulus. The band is asymmetric and when implanted spans more around the side of the mitral annulus having the posterior commissure than the side with the anterior commissure. The band has a saddle shape with a posterior upward bow centered on a minor axis of the mitral annulus, and a span extending clockwise therefrom is longer than a span extending counter-clockwise. The longer span may be 150° while the shorter span extends 90°. A set of rings may have different saddle profiles and different plan view shapes for different sized bands. A method includes implanting so that the band extends over the posterior leaflet and a short distance past the posterior commissure outside of the anterior leaflet.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for modulating laser treatment on the eye. In use, an eye of a patient is scanned using a laser scanning system to produce a scan result. A mapping of the eye is created based on the scan result. Additionally, a modulated treatment of the eye is created based on the mapping. Further, a laser illumination light beam is delivered to a first location on the eye of the patient in accordance with the modulated treatment.

Abstract: A method for acquiring diagnostic data from a vehicle communication interface and providing the data to a user of a diagnostic tool as an itemized list. The diagnostic data comprises mixed types, such as diagnostic trouble codes and parameter identifiers. The user may utilize the diagnostic tool to filter or sort the diagnostic data according to elements associated with each entry of diagnostic data in an itemized list.

Abstract: In general terms the present invention proposes a medicament dispenser 100 for use with at least one medicament carrier carrying multiple distinct medicament dose portions. The medicament dispenser 100 comprises: (a) a dispensing mechanism actuable for dispensing the dose portions carried by the at least one medicament carrier; (b) a mouthpiece 106; and (c) a cover for the mouthpiece, the cover being movably mounted to the dispenser 100 for sequential movement from a closed position in which the mouthpiece 106 is at least partially covered, to an open position in which the mouthpiece 106 is uncovered, via a first position, and optionally via a second position between the first position and the closed position that includes the closed position.

Abstract: A capacitively or inductively driven spiral antenna creates an electric current distribution of a dipole, which generates a sensible magnetic field for various military applications including detecting and pre-detonating improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The antenna includes a dielectric substrate, a spiral antenna, driving elements such as tuning forks or loop, and a coaxial cable that connects to a source terminal. The substrate is a low dielectric loss insulating material to provide support for the antenna. The spiral antenna is tuned to a natural frequency is disposed on the substrate. The coaxial cable extends from the substrate to the source terminal.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method, by an authentication server, includes generating a transaction identifier associated with an authentication request received from an external device. In response to verifying a first authentication factor of the authentication request, the method includes transmitting a prompt and the transaction identifier to the external device, wherein the prompt is an HTTP link associated with a browser comprising a generated cookie, the generated cookie being associated with the transaction identifier. The method includes receiving a signal comprising a transmitted transaction identifier and an instruction to process the HTTP link. The method includes instructing an application installed on the external device to open the browser in a webview in response to processing the instruction, wherein a cookie is provided. The method includes identifying the generated cookie based on verifying the transmitted transaction identifier.

Abstract: Accessibly positioned sanitizing materials can include paper towels and sanitizing sprays. A paper towel holder with a central support to hold a roll of paper towels can allow spinning dispensing of paper towels. The central support can also function separately as a removable disinfectant sprayer, enabling a user to carry and store paper towels and disinfecting solution in the same location, and providing a disinfecting sprayer nearby when paper towels are used to clean a surface. The structure described can also house other fluids for spraying.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for sacroiliac (SI) joint fusion are described. At least one posterior SI implant and at least one lateral SI implant may be implanted. The posterior SI implant may be placed in the intra-articular region, and the lateral SI implant may transfix the SI joint such that the lateral SI implant passes through the ilium, across the SI joint, and into the sacrum. The lateral SI implant may compress the SI joint. The lateral SI implant may be inserted through a window in the posterior SI implant to interlock the two implants.

Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for stabilization of bones and/or joints are disclosed. A medical implant may be inserted into a treatment site, such as an interspinous process space. The implant may have an outer body, an inner body coupled to the outer body, distal wings coupled to the inner body, proximal wings coupled to the outer body, and a threaded screw coupled to the inner body and outer body. The threaded screw may be configured to couple to a driver head of an insertion tool and the outer body may be configured to couple to an attachment member of an insertion tool. Actuating the insertion tool may actuate the threaded screw to thereby transition the proximal wings and the distal wings from a closed configuration to a deployed configuration, and from a deployed configuration to a clamped configuration.

Abstract: Described herein is a technique for securely synthesizing a voice of a speaker during a language translated voice call. When a voice call is first initiated between the speaker and one or more other call participants, the audio data representing the speech of the speaker is received at a server computer where it is processed by obtaining a sample of a fixed duration (e.g., 8 seconds). This fixed-duration sample is then processed to generate a voice profile of the speaker for use in generating synthesized speech in a voice of the speaker, in a second language. This process of sampling the audio data and generating the voice profile is repeated at a fixed interval (e.g., every 30 seconds), such that the voice profile of the speaker is continuously updated during the voice call.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for using physical movement, e.g. associated with a physical therapy, for virtual gameplay control. A selection of an exercise is received from a user interface. After the selection, data associated with the exercise can be read from memory. The data includes a plurality of joints to detect and expected positions of each of the joints. A plurality of frames of a performance of a user performing the exercise are received, from sensors such as a video camera. Each of the joints within each of the frames can be detected, and a change in positions of joints can be determined. Subsequently, an indication of success that the exercise was performed correctly is sent to the user interface. A character in the game then takes an action, thus in this manner, the user can reliably control their character's in-game actions.

Abstract: The present technology pertains to displaying a version of a content item and an indication of differences between that version and another version of the content item. For example, a content management system can iterate through portions of a first version of a content item and attempt to match those portions with portions of a second version of the content item. The content management system can analyze these matches to determine differences between the respective portions and to classify and categorize the differences (e.g., do they represent a significant change or do they change the meaning of the content item). A client device can then represent a clean version of the content item in a first application and the differences and characteristics in a second application in coordination with the first application.

Abstract: Downstream uses for briquettes and other forms of asphalt shingle waste are provided. A composition is provided. The composition comprises 5% to 50% by weight of an asphalt shingle waste based on a total weight of the composition, wherein the asphalt shingle waste comprises a waste asphalt; 1% to 25% by weight of at least one filler material based on the total weight of the composition; 1% to 15% by weight of at least one polymer based on the total weight of the composition; 1% to 10% by weight of at least one stabilizer based on the total weight of the composition; and 1% to 15% by weight of at least one surfactant based on the total weight of the composition. A drilling fluid, various other asphalt products, and related methods are also provided, among other things.
