  • Patent number: 11916862
Abstract: Techniques for identifying mention identifiers within a message using a mentions processor are discussed herein. In some examples, a communication platform maintains a mentions processor configured to receive a message including a mention identifier, analyze the message to determine a type of the mention identifier included in the message, identify a second user account or a virtual space referenced by the mention identifier, determine whether a notification should be sent to the second user account or the virtual space, and, upon determining that the notification should be sent, send the notification associated with the message to the second user profile or the virtual space. In some examples, an observability class associated with the mentions processor allows the use of a mentions lookup tool to view one or more stored mention identifiers associated with the message and one or more stored notifications enqueued for the message.

  • Publication number: 20240058690
Abstract: A system and method for moving a magnetic piece across a board comprising a plurality of electromagnets. The plurality of electromagnets comprises an origin electromagnet and a destination electromagnet. First, a magnetic field is generated at the destination electromagnet such that the magnetic piece would be repulsed by the center of the destination electromagnet. Next, a magnetic field is generated at the origin electromagnet such that the magnetic piece is repulsed by the center of the origin electromagnet such that the piece moves to the edge of the origin and destination magnet. Then, a magnetic field is generated at the destination electromagnet that attracts the magnetic piece to the center of the destination electromagnet such that the piece moves to the center of the destination electromagnet.

  • Publication number: 20240057994
Abstract: An incisionless fully endoscopic method of reducing the capacity of the stomach is provided to surgically treat obesity. The method is directed to endoluminal tissue approximation of a portion of the stomach, including at least a portion of the greater curvature thereof. The method includes a pattern of stitching in which a portion of the stomach is closed off. One stitching pattern causes the lateral portion of the stomach to be drawn to reduce the usable volume of the stomach while maintaining a pathway from the esophagus to the pylorus. As the stitching pattern advances, the fundus is automatically drawn downward so that it may be endoscopically approached for stitching in a facilitated manner According to another aspect of the invention, another stitching pattern extends from the antrum to the fundus between the anterior and posterior portions of the stomach.

  • Publication number: 20240059713
Abstract: Proanthocyanidin-cinnamaldehydes pyrylium products (FP) were synthesized by the condensation reaction of proantho-cyanidins (PAC) with various cinnamaldehydes. Synthesized FP exhibited fluorescence at higher excitation and emission wavelengths than PAC. FP were evaluated for their ability to agglutinate extra-intestinal pathogenic Escherichia coli (ExPEC). Results showed that FP were significantly more bioactive (p-value<0.05) for agglutinating ExPEC compared to PAC. Scanning electron microscopy indicates that FP interacts with ExPEC surface structures and suggests that FP have higher affinity with the fimbriae-like structures on the surface of ExPEC in comparison to PAC. In addition, fluorescent microscopy performed on in vitro and in vivo agglutination assays show that FP entrap ExPEC in a web-like network, thus demonstrating agglutination of ExPEC. Fluorescent proanthocyanidins offer a new approach to visualize bacterial infections and to treat such infections.
