  • Publication number: 20210365376
Abstract: Described apparatuses and methods form adaptive cache lines having a configurable capacity from hardware cache lines having a fixed capacity. The adaptive cache lines can be formed in accordance with a programmable cache-line parameter. The programmable cache-line parameter can specify a capacity for the adaptive cache lines. The adaptive cache lines may be formed by combining respective groups of fixed-capacity hardware cache lines. The quantity of fixed-capacity hardware cache lines included in respective adaptive cache lines may be based on the programmable cache-line parameter. The programmable cache-line parameter can be selected in accordance with characteristics of the cache workload.

  • Publication number: 20210365120
Abstract: Broadly speaking, embodiments of the present techniques provide haptic button assemblies in which the haptic button has a low profile while still providing a satisfying tactile response or sensation to a user. Advantageously, the haptic button assemblies may have a profile that, for example, enables the assembly to be incorporated into the free space along an edge of a portable computing device. The haptic assemblies may, for example, be arranged to move the button perpendicularly with respect to the edge of the device.

  • Publication number: 20210366077
Abstract: Embodiments shifts the color fields of a rendered image frame based on the eye tracking data (e.g. position of the user's pupils). An MR device obtains a first image frame having a set of color fields. The first image frame corresponds to a first position of the pupils of the viewer. The MR device then determines a second position of the pupils of the viewer based on, for example, data receive from an eye tracking device coupled to the MR device. The MR device generates, based on the first image frame, a second image frame corresponding to the second position of the pupils. The second image frame is generated by shifting color fields by a shift value based on the second position of the pupils of the viewer. The MR device transmits the second image frame to a display device of the MR device to be displayed thereon.

  • Publication number: 20210362857
Abstract: An aircraft includes an airframe with first and second wings having a fuselage extending therebetween. A propulsion assembly is coupled to the fuselage and includes a counter-rotating coaxial rotor system that is tiltable relative to the fuselage to generate a thrust vector. Tail assemblies are coupled to wingtips of the first and second wings each having an elevon that collectively form a distributed array of elevons. A flight control system is configured to direct the thrust vector of the coaxial rotor system and to control movements of the elevons such that the elevons collectively provide pitch authority and differentially provide roll authority for the aircraft in the biplane orientation. In addition, when the flight control system detects an elevon fault, the flight control system is configured to perform corrective action responsive thereto at a distributed elevon level or at a coordinated distributed elevon and propulsion assembly level.

  • Publication number: 20210367965
Abstract: A distributed system of scanning nodes is provided job portions to collectively scan network systems numbering in the tens of thousands and beyond million across the Internet. A scanning controller creates the job portions to fulfill a scanning request. The scanning controller creates the job portions based on availability of scanning nodes and a size of the scanning request (i.e., number of network addresses indicated by the request). The scanning controller creates each job portion with scanning instructions for an available scanning node to execute on a selected set of the network addresses indicated in the request, with each job portion having a different set of addresses to scan and being independently executable.

  • Publication number: 20210366334
Abstract: Embodiments transform an image frame based on a position of pupils of a viewer to eliminate visual artefacts formed on an image frame displayed on a scanning-type display device. An MR system obtains a first image frame corresponding to a first view perspective associated with a first pupil position. The system receives data from an eye tracking device, determines a second pupil position, and generates a second image frame corresponding to a second view perspective associated with the second pupil position. A first set of pixels of the second image frame are shifted by a first shift value, and a second set of pixels of the second image frame are shifted by a second shift value, where the shift values are calculated based on at least the second pupil position. The system transmits the second image frame to a near-eye display device to be displayed thereon.
