Abstract: In particular embodiments, a computing device establishes a remote desktop connection with a remote host, the remote desktop connection including one or more dynamic virtual channels. The computing device receives from one or more sensors an indication that the computing device has been rotated to a new orientation. The computing device sends to the remote host, via one of the dynamic virtual channels, information associated with the new orientation. The computing device receives from the remote host graphical data based at least in part on the information associated with the new orientation and provides for display the graphical data.

  • Publication number: 20150271018
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for dynamically allocating network addresses to devices based on demand. A first network address allocation is initially assigned to a subdivision of a network including multiple computing devices. A router for the subdivision is configured to implement the first network address allocation. Data indicating a reconfiguration of the computing devices is obtained. A second network address allocation is subsequently assigned to the subdivision of the network based at least in part on the reconfiguration of the computing devices. • Publication number: 20150266538
Abstract: A mechanical power brake assembly for the rear wheel of a bicycle that magnifies the manual force applied to asymmetric brake shoes so as to induce a greater force through the hand lever, cable and brake arms. The force applied to the brake pad gripping surface induces a greater force by harnessing the forward momentum of the bicycle. An increase in the forward momentum of the bicycle results in a greater magnification of the force to the brake shoe. In one embodiment of the brake assembly, each brake shoe is configured to pivot on a connecting rod. In another embodiment of the brake assembly, the brake shoes are secured with a saddle that pivots within each brake arm configured as a cantilever. An embodiment of the asymmetric brake shoe may be mounted on any existing brake arms without requiring a proprietary brake arm assembly.

The system also includes a mobile computing device having, NFC device, a display and a mobile application, wherein the mobile computing device is placed proximate to the door lock. The system includes a server in communication with the mobile computing device. The mobile application may generate a code such as an NFC signal in response to communication with the server and transmits a code through the NFC signal. The microcontroller of the door lock disengages the locking device in response to the NFC device of the door lock receiving the generated code communicated from the mobile computing device and determining that the generated code includes correct data to disengage the locking device of the door lock.

  • Publication number: 20150268988
Abstract: A mechanism is provided for handling interrupt actions for inter-thread communication. In association with a first processor thread, a thread action data structure is provided that comprises a non-blocking synchronization data structure and an internal list data structure of pending interrupts having no form of synchronization. A post of an interrupt action is received from a second processor thread to the thread action data structure associated with the first processor thread, where the interrupt action is added to the non-blocking synchronization data structure of the thread action data structure. The interrupt action is moved from the non-blocking synchronization data structure to the internal list data structure of pending interrupts for handling by the first processor thread. The internal list data structure of pending interrupts is processed to thereby handle interrupt actions moved to the internal list data structure.

  • Publication number: 20150269084
Abstract: According to one general aspect, a method may include receiving a request, from a non-central processor device that is configured to perform a direct memory access, to write data within a memory system at a memory address. The method may also include determining if a cache tag hit is generated, based upon the memory address, by a caching tier of the memory system that is closer, latency-wise, to a central processor than a coherent memory interconnect. The method may further include if the caching tier generated the cache tag hit, injecting the data into the caching tier.

  • Publication number: 20150269868
Abstract: An online system provides for the teaching and learning of step by step solutions to STEM problems. The system comprises at least one tablet computer linked to at least one computer readable storage medium by a communication network. The computer includes an input device and a touch sensitive screen for receiving and displaying handwritten input. A system user inputs the computer with the steps of a step by step solution to a STEM problem by handwriting math expressions and sketches on the touch sensitive screen. The system evaluates and automatically color codes each step in accordance with a color coding protocol stored in the computer readable storage medium as each step is entered into the system. The color coding provides visual feedback which identifies correct steps, erroneous steps, and intermediate steps in the solution. Teachers use the feedback when teaching STEM solutions and students use the feedback when they are practicing and assessing their own solutions.

  • Publication number: 20150267497
Abstract: A sealing apparatus (10) for use in establishing a seal in an annulus (12) between a mandrel (18) and a bore wall (14) has an annular seal element (20) initially activateable between a first, retracted, configuration and a second, expanded, configuration. The seal element (20) is disposed around a mandrel (18) and is free to move relative the mandrel (18) such that when the seal element (20) defines the second, expanded, configuration, pressurised fluid from the annulus (12) urges the seal element (20) into sealing or enhanced sealing engagement with the bore wall (14).

  • Publication number: 20150266142
Abstract: A series progressive divider valve comprises a valve body and pistons. The valve body comprises a fluid inlet, piston bores, outlet bores, porting and undercuts. The fluid inlet extends into an exterior of the valve body. The piston bores extend through the valve body from a first end to a second end. Each piston bores includes a piston. The outlet bores extend into the valve body, each outlet bores comprises a first set of outlet bores and a second set of outlet bores. The porting forms a plurality passageways connecting the piston bores to each other and with the outlet bores such that when high pressure fluid is applied to the inlet each of the pistons reciprocates from the first end to the second end in sequence. An undercut is located at an intersection between each passageway and piston bore.
