  • Patent number: 12018683
Abstract: A compressor may include a shell assembly, a first scroll, a second scroll, a piston, and a piston-retention member. The piston engages the first scroll and may be partially received within a recess defined by the shell assembly. The piston and the shell assembly may cooperate to define a pressure chamber. The pressure chamber may be in selective fluid communication with a source of working fluid to control movement of the piston relative to the shell assembly. The piston-retention member may be mounted to the piston and selectively engage a rotationally fixed structure. The piston-retention member allows rotation of the piston relative to the first scroll in a first rotational direction and restricts rotation of the piston relative to the first scroll in a second rotational direction.

  • Patent number: 11837862
Abstract: An arc-flash sensor may provide flexibilities for supporting both surface mounting and peek-through mounting on a panel (e.g., a wall panel or an electrical panel). The arc-flash sensor includes a translucent optical lens, a fiber-optic cable, and a skirt around the back side of the optical lens. The translucent optical lens diffuses the light produced in an arc flash to enhance the detectability of light signals picked by the fiber-optic cable. The fiber-optic cable enters parallel to the panel and perpendicular to principal axis of the optical lens. The parallel fiber-optic cable configuration reduces sensor installation space occupied and potential damage to the sensor. The skirt is used to prevent false tripping caused by unexpected events on the fiber-optic cable side such as camera flashes, lightning, sunlight, or the like.

  • Patent number: 9452457
Abstract: A composition for treating a water system to remove scale, microorganisms and biofilm, and corrosion by-products. The composition comprises chelating agents and a surfactant. Depending on the water system being treated, the composition may be a solid dissolved by water in the system being treated or may be a pre-mixed foam or aerosol. A treatment system particularly suitable for flowing water systems comprises a container for holding such a treatment composition and mixing it with a portion of water from the water system, a filter for removing solids dislodged during treatment, and a corrosion monitor. A method for using such a treatment composition comprises draining substantially all existing water in the water system, filling or rinsing the system with fresh water, contacting the treatment composition with substantially all parts of the water system, and draining the treatment composition from the system before resuming normal operations.
