  • Publication number: 20170128280
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses for rejecting defective absorbent articles from a converting line. At a downstream portion of a converting process, a continuous length of absorbent articles may be subjected to a final knife and cut to create discrete absorbent articles advancing on a first carrier. From the first carrier, the discrete absorbent articles may be transferred to a transfer apparatus, which in turn, transfers the discrete absorbent articles to a second carrier. The transfer apparatus may include carrier members that orbit around an axis of rotation and may be adapted to receive the absorbent articles from the first carrier and transfer the absorbent articles to the second carrier. Defective absorbent articles may be detected by an inspection system, which may be operably connected with the transfer apparatus and/or the first carrier to remove the defective absorbent articles from the converting process.

  • Publication number: 20140257897
Abstract: A system for monitoring an availability status of responder personnel comprises a server and a plurality of electronic devices. The server is configured to maintain a list of responder personnel names and an availability status associated with each name. The server executes a server application which displays a first web page including a first on-screen availability object for establishing the availability status of a responder, such that activating the first on-screen availability object establishes the availability status of the responder as of the moment the first on-screen availability object is activated. The electronic devices are configured to communicate with the server.

  • Patent number: 8828003
Abstract: A method of milling a calcar region of the femur. The method includes using a miller assembly including a cutter and a frame. The frame has a longitudinal axis and a cutter mount for mounting the cutter at a first angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the frame. The cutter mount extends at the first angle from the longitudinal axis of the frame and receives a portion of the cutter and maintain the received cutter oriented at the first angle during rotation. The frame includes a handle that forms a portion of a drive joint for coupling the frame to a drill. The handle is coupled to the drill and the miller assembly is inserted into the femur such that the cutter is located in the calcar region. The drill is then operated, causing the cutter to rotate and mill bone in the calcar region.

  • Patent number: 8746769
Abstract: A portable ski and ski pole carrier system includes a pair of flexible straps, each having a strap receiver and a strap fastener disposed at opposite ends. The strap receivers are configured to receive the strap fasteners and secure a pair of skis and ski poles within the straps. A handle is attached perpendicularly to the pair of straps and parallel to the pair of skis and ski poles. The ski poles are disposed between a heel binding on one of the pair of skis and a brake lever handle extending from the other of the pair of skis. The loops formed by the straps may be disposed between toe and heel bindings on the pair of skis. The interior of the straps may include a non-slip material to help secure the pair of skis.
