  • Patent number: 7285520
Abstract: Cleansing wipes comprising a film forming polymeric material and a cleansing agent stored in dry form are disclosed. The cleansing wipes are water disintegratable such that upon contact with water, the cleansing wipes release the cleansing agent and begin to dissolve/disperse into the water. Full dissolution/dispersion of the cleansing wipes occurs in about 60 seconds or less after contact with water to allow for a sufficient time for cleansing of the hands or other skin area.

  • Patent number: 7287063
Abstract: An storage area network (SAN) has a manager digital data processor that includes a first element that maintains a first representation of the SAN and a second element that maintains a second representation of the SAN. The first element generates notifications of events in the SAN, e.g., addition or removal of components or relationships between components, and includes with them data pertaining to the event. The second element responds to such notifications and data by updating the second representation. That data is preferably sufficient for the second element to update the second representation without further reference to information contained in the representation.

  • Patent number: 7285091
Abstract: A means of assessing the internal structure of teeth based upon use of high frequency, highly localized ultrasound (acoustic waves) generated by a short laser pulse is presented. In contrast to traditional contact transducer methods, laser-generated ultrasound is non-contact and non-destructive in nature and requires no special tooth surface preparation. Optical interferometric detection of ultrasound provides a complementary non-destructive, non-contact means for obtaining data with a very small detection footprint. The combination of laser-generated ultrasound and optical interferometric detection allows for in-vivo diagnostics of tooth health that is sensitive to the enamel/dentin, dentin/pulp, and dentin/cementum interfaces as well as a region of dead tracts in the dentin within a tooth.

  • Publication number: 20070238533
Abstract: A handheld device for incapacitating dangerous suspects without endangering nearby civilians. The user holds the handgrip which has a trigger connected to a source of thrust, such as an air cartridge. When the user pulls the trigger, the air cartridge is fired and extends a shaft outwards, which has an end piece at the other end for catching suspects. The end piece unfolds into a flat surface and has needles with retractable barbs attached to the flat surface. These retractable barbs engage the suspect and incapacitate him. A cam inside of the end piece can be operated to retract the barbs and release the suspect.

  • Publication number: 20070240026
Abstract: A method evaluating threshold of a data cell in a memory device including a programming locus coupled with the data cell for receiving a programming signal setting a stored signal level in the data cell and responding to a read signal to indicate the stored signal at a read locus; includes the steps of: (a) in no particular order: (1) selecting a test threshold signal; and (2) setting a read signal at a non-read level; (b) applying the test threshold signal to the programming locus; (c) cycling the read signal between a read level and a non-read level while applying the test threshold signal to the programming locus to present at least two test signals at the read locus when the read signal is at the read level; and (d) while cycling, observing whether the at least two test signals manifest a difference greater than a predetermined amount.

  • Publication number: 20070230119
Abstract: A chassis for plug-in modules may be provided with a vented and ducted sub-rack support member. The vented and ducted sub-rack support member may deflect a portion of the air flowing within the chassis through vents in the top surface of the vented and ducted sub-rack support member in order to increase the air flow to heat producing components mounted on the backplane above the support member. The increased air flow may increase air flow velocity and decrease the ambient temperature of the air around these components and improve the dissipation of heat from each component into the air. Air flow above the vented and ducted sub-rack support member may also be redirected by upper deflectors mounted on the support member to portions of plug-in cards adjacent to the upper deflectors and may provide additional cooling to components on the plug-in cards near the backplane.

  • Patent number: 7274674
Abstract: A loop network hub including a hub port with a loop initialization insertion mechanism. The loop initialization insertion mechanism causes a hub port which detects a new node port connection to automatically begin generating loop initialization data. A hub port continues to generate loop initialization data until that hub port receives a loop initialization sequence. The loop initialization data propagates around the loop of the hub, halting ordinary processing. In this way, the entire loop is cleared. Upon receiving a loop initialization sequence, the hub port originating the loop initialization data inserts the new node port into the loop. At this point, loop initialization begins and each node port in the loop network obtains a unique loop network address.

  • Publication number: 20070214815
Abstract: A thermal energy system includes a solar energy collector, a ground loop having an inlet and an outlet, and a heat pump. A first fluid conduit extends from the outlet to the solar energy collector, and from the solar energy collector to the inlet, for transporting a heat exchange fluid, from the outlet to the inlet through the solar energy collector. A second fluid conduit extends from the outlet to the heat pump, and from the heat pump to the inlet, for transporting the heat exchange fluid, from the outlet to the inlet through the heat pump. A fluid pump is provide for urging the fluid to flow from the inlet to the outlet through the ground loop, and from the outlet to the inlet through at least one of the first and second conduits.
