  • Patent number: 10284685
Abstract: Tools are provided to assist users of cloud computing systems to create, monitor, and debug the resource instances they need. Specifically, resource instances are created in a cloud computing system based on a blueprint that is provided to a blueprint processor. The blueprint declaratively defines the resources that the user needs to have created in the cloud. Based on the information contained in blueprint, the blueprint processor causes the cloud to orchestrate the creation of resource instances, doing so in parallel when possible, and to configure those resource instances as specified in blueprint. Techniques are described for generating a timeline to convey status during the deployment process, and for performing debugging operations.

  • Patent number: 10284695
Abstract: This disclosure describes voice-enabled modular devices that act as functional, voice-controlled endpoints at which users may provide voice commands. The voice-enabled modular devices may include a power unit which may be installed into a wall permanently to serve as a power source, and a front-panel module which detachably couples to the power unit via a hardware interface. The hardware interface may allow the front-panel module and power unit to communicate with each other, and may further allow the power unit to provide power to the front-panel module. The power unit of the voice-enabled modular device described herein may be configured to provide power to multiple front-panel modules having different capabilities, and potentially different power requirements, thereby supporting multiple front-panel modules to increase the functionality of the voice-enabled modular devices.

  • Patent number: 10281851
Abstract: An imaging device has a drive gear assembly which operatively engages with a backup roll gear of a fuser assembly when the fuser assembly is inserted into the imaging device. Such engagement causes the drive gear assembly to rotate, and in turn rotates a drive motor coupled to the drive gear assembly. The drive motor includes Hall Effect sensors associated with a sensor arrangement that senses rotation of the motor. During rotation of the drive motor, sensor signals are transmitted to a controller of the imaging device, the controller counting rising and falling signal edges of the received sensor signals. Based on the number of rising and falling signal edges, a message is sent to a user of the imaging device whether or not the installation of the fuser assembly was successful.

  • Publication number: 20190129980
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system for migrating traffic between versions of a distributed service. During operation, the system executes a set of nested controllers for migrating traffic from a first version of a distributed service to a second version of the distributed service. Next, the system uses a set of rules to select, by the set of nested controllers, a first deployment environment for processing a query of the distributed service. The system then transmits the query to the first deployment environment.

  • Patent number: 10275972
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a system for providing a sealed container of traceable resources. The system may comprise receiving a request for an amount of resources to be provided in a sealed container. A set of individual resource items may be collected to meet this request. Information about the denominations and unique identifiers of these resource items may be identified, and each resource item can be verified for authenticity. The system may then secure the collected set of individual resource items in a container, apply a tamper-evident seal to the container, and apply an informational notification to the container. The informational notification may provide information on the makeup of the container contents as well as an indication of the verification of the contents. This sealed container can then be dispensed for future use.
