  • Publication number: 20030167559
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and two apparatuses enabling refrigerated wearing and dressing. A refrigerant substance in condensed phase undergoing sublimation or evaporation into gaseous phase will absorb heat. By convecting the sublimated or evaporated phase of the refrigerant substance onto areas surrounding a wearing or a dressing, temperatures nearby can thus be lowered, resulting in comfort on wearing or dressing. Refrigeration in this manner is effective, since sublimation heat and evaporation heat are much more pronounced than can otherwise be obtained via using a battery or a dry cell, for example. Refrigerant can be placed in a container providing convenience in use, allowing for refill or replacement when depleted. Refrigerated clothes, hats, hamlets, etc., are in great need by our communities, in situations whenever it requires walking across air-conditioned stations, working under the sun or before a furnace, driving a motorcycle with an air-tight hamlet, and so forth.

  • Publication number: 20030171079
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and two apparatuses enabling suction control over surface cleaning and scraping. Suction control is necessary so as to obtain good contact between a cleaning/scraping pad and the surface to be cleaned/scraped, thereby achieving efficiency. Also, suction control is required so as to collect debris falling off during the cleaning/scraping process, which may otherwise contaminate the environment. Suction control provides guidance for the movement of a cleaning/scraping pad sucked on the surface of an object. This implies convenience when cleaning/scraping over a large surface area is attempted. Suction action is generated by convecting away surrounding fluid, being either water or air, to produce local negative pressure at the pad position. The disclosed devices are most desirable in cleaning water containers, such as a fish tank or a swimming pool, as well as to collect dusts on scraping the surface of a mortar wall.

  • Publication number: 20030169445
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for efficiently handling client requests in a server farm. A server in the server farm may comprise a hardfile constrained to activate a limited number of logical partitions. The hardfile may store a partition table that defines the logical partitions activated. An image may refer to a collection of the limited number of logical partitions. Each image may be associated with a web site. Hence, the server may host a web site associated with the image currently active. The server may further store an image definition table storing a listing of images. An image associated with a different web site than the web site hosted may be selected. The logical partitions of the image selected may substitute the logical partitions defined in the partition table. Consequently, the server hosts a different web site without copying the old image or installing the new image.

  • Publication number: 20030169394
Abstract: A six mask-steps method for fabricating liquid crystal display is described. A driving area and a pixel area are defined by a first mask step. Gates on the driving/pixel area and upper electrodes of capacitors on the pixel area are defined by a second mask step. Then, using the gates and the upper electrodes as a mask, a source/drain, channel region and lower electrode are formed in the driving/pixel area by an ion-doping process. A second insulation layer is formed and covers the insulation substrate. A plurality of first openings is formed by the third mask step and the gate and the source/drain are exposed. A second conductive layer is formed and covers the second insulation layer and the first opening is filled. Then, the second conductive layer is patterned, and a source/drain line is formed and contacts electrically with the source/drain by the fourth mask step. A dielectric layer is formed and covers the second insulation layer and the second conductive layer; the dielectric layer has a planar surface.

  • Patent number: 6617253
Abstract: A plasma etching method using selective polymer deposition, and a method of forming a contact hole using the plasma etching method are provided. The plasma etching method uses a method of reinforcing an etch mask by selectively depositing polymer on only a photoresist pattern, which is an etch mask. That is, a dielectric film is plasma etched for a predetermined period of time using the photoresist pattern as an etch mask, and polymer is selectively deposited on only the photoresist pattern which is thinned by plasma etching, thereby forming a polymer layer. Following this, the dielectric film is plasma etched using the photoresist pattern and the polymer layer as a mask. Thus, dielectric film etching providing high resolution and an excellent profile can be performed using the thinned photoresist pattern as a mask, and a contact hole and a self-aligned contact hole each having a very high aspect ratio, and a self-aligned contact hole having an excellent profile, can be formed.

  • Patent number: 6617825
Abstract: An electronic device with a power generator has a rotational component, a power generator, a commutator, a battery charger, and a transmission component. The commutator is electrically coupled with the power generator. The battery charger is electrically coupled with the commutator for providing a charging power source. The transmission component is coupled between the rotational component and a shaft. When the rotational component rotates, the rotational component drives the transmission component so as to make the shaft rotate and make a coil generate an induced current. The induced current is transmitted into the commutator. An output of the commutator is used to charge the battery charger.

  • Patent number: 6618509
Abstract: In a digital signal processing system, a method for selecting a transform function to apply to an input signal based on characteristics of the signal, and for self-adjusting criteria which are used in selecting a transform function to apply to a subsequent signal. Characteristics are obtained from the signal. The characteristics are compared to adjustable criteria which are used in selecting a transform function. Differing criteria are maintained for the different selectable transform functions. A record is maintained of transform functions selected and the particular characteristics that caused the selection. Based on the ability of a transform function to minimally define the coded signal, an inverse transform function is selected to decode the signal. The criteria used in selecting a transform function to apply to a subsequent signal are adjusted based on a quality measure of the decoded signal and the record of selected transform functions.

  • Publication number: 20030166324
Abstract: A method is disclosed for forming LDDs (Lightly Doped Drains) in high voltage devices employed in non-volatile memories and DDDs (Doubly Doped Drains) in flash memory applications. The high voltage device is formed by using two successive ion implantations at a tilted angle which provides an improved gradation of doped profile near the junction and the attendant improvement in junction breakdown at higher voltages. The doubly doped drain in a stacked flash memory cell is also formed by two implantations, but at an optimum tilt-angle, where the first implantation is lightly doped, and the second, heavily doped. The resulting DDD provides faster program speed, reduced program current, increase read current and reduced drain disturb in the flash memory cell.
