  • Patent number: 4401538
Abstract: An isoelectric focusing technique and apparatus employ an isoelectric focusing channel in which: (1) at least a portion of the channel wall extending between the anode and cathode compartments is constructed in such a way that electric lines of force pass through this portion while nevertheless a substantial component of the field is parallel the channel wall; and (2) this portion is selectively permeable to the ions of the electrolyte.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 2, 1981
Date of Patent: August 30, 1983
    Inventor: A. David Hausfeld
  • Patent number: 4160191
Abstract: An improved display device of the Type using a self-sustained discharge as a source of electrons for cathodoluminescence is operable at relatively greater pressures so as to lower the necessary striking potential to the Paschen minimum and includes an improved grid structure for selectively controlling the transport of electrons from the sustained discharge to a high voltage screen, and constructed so as to limit positive ion space charge formation therebetween.
