  • Patent number: 4999851
Abstract: A collapsible hat comprising a body and a frame, with the frame including a frame member and a connecting device. The body is provided to cover at least a portion of a head of a wearer, and the frame is secured to the body, preferably within a circumferential pocket in the brim, to give the body shape. The main frame member defines a longitudinal axis, has opposite first and second ends, and is shaped into a circular form. The connecting device connects together the first and second ends of the main frame member for rotation about their longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 4246915
Abstract: An improved portable coin bank having at least one tubular member configured to retain a stack of coins of a particular denomination and for permitting the lowermost coin of the stack to be manually dispensed as required comprising a lower support portion having an inclined bottom support surface having a first U-shaped cut to facilitate removal of a coin and extending more than half-way around the periphery of the tube, a second U-shaped cut in the front of the tube conterminous with the first U-shaped cut, and a pair of parallel slits on either side of the second opening extending upward from the lower support portion and each pair defining a spring member for retaining the stack of coins and permitting withdrawal of the lowermost coin by flexing radially outward. Between the second U-shaped opening and each spring member there is provided an arched portion which serves to prevent additional coins from being inadvertently dispensed as the lowermost coin is withdrawn.

  • Patent number: 4213215
Abstract: An improved container opener is disclosed for removing bottle caps of the threaded type. The container opener has a handle and a bottle and/or can opener at one end of the handle. The bottle opener includes a lip for engaging the top of a standard bottle cap and a tang for engaging under the skirt of the bottle cap for prying the cap from a bottle. The can opener includes a tapered blade terminating in a point for piercing the top of a can and a tang for engaging the side of the can while the blade is piercing the top. The improvement comprises means disposed on at least one of the bottle opener and the can opener for engaging a threaded bottle cap in at least three spaced locations defining a triangle such that counterclockwise rotation of the container opener as it engages the threaded bottle cap will rotatably remove the cap.

  • Patent number: 4153197
Abstract: A coin bank having a plurality of tubular members upstanding from a base, each tubular member having a predetermined cross-sectional area sufficient to receive coins of a particular denomination. The effective height of each tubular member is such that when filled with coins the number contained therein will fill a standard coin wrapper. There is a space of predetermined thickness between the stack of coins and the inner wall of the tubular member sufficient to permit the insertion of the coin wrapper into the tubular member and around the coins stored therein.
