Patent number: 11088564Abstract: Systems and methods for providing a wireless charging placement and/or alignment indicator(s) are described. In some embodiments, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include a chassis and a controller coupled to the chassis, the controller configured to: identify a direction of movement between the device and a wireless charger that increases a charging efficiency between the device and the wireless charger; and indicate the direction of movement via a Light-Emitting Diode (LED) disposed on the chassis.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2018Date of Patent: August 10, 2021Assignee: Dell Products, L.P.Inventors: Jace W. Files, John T. Morrison, Alonzo Fleming Seay

Patent number: 9671992Abstract: A flexible display device monitoring system includes a display layer that is configured to flex into a plurality of flexed orientations. A sensor layer is coupled to the display layer and is configured to flex with the display layer into the plurality of flexed orientations. The sensor layer includes a plurality of sensors that each generate stress data in response to the sensor layer being flexed. A stress monitoring engine is coupled to the sensor layer and receives the stress data from the plurality of sensors when the sensor layer is flexed. The stress monitoring engine determines that the stress data exceeds a stress threshold and, in response, activates an alert system that may provide a vibration alert, a sound alert, or a visual alert. Visual alerts may include activating a relative portion on the display layer that corresponds to sensors that provided sensor data that exceeded the stress threshold.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2015Date of Patent: June 6, 2017Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: Chitrak Gupta, Alonzo Fleming Seay, Deeder Aurongzeb, Sushma Basavarajaiah

Patent number: 9665191Abstract: User input devices with variable pressure buttons are configured. A user may specify a range of pressure to be associated with a pressure level. In some embodiments, a user may also associate a command or other instruction to an application with an identity of a variable pressure button and a pressure level of the button. In some embodiments, the associations may be represented in a configuration profile. In further embodiments, a microcontroller for a mouse may translate signals from variable pressure buttons into pressure levels based upon the configuration file. In many embodiments, a user may associate a reporting rate with a variable pressure button. A legacy application may receive reports of the state of the variable pressure button at the associated reporting rate.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2016Date of Patent: May 30, 2017Assignee: DELL PRODUCTS, LPInventors: Mark A. Casparian, Carlos L. Ross, Danae Sierra, Frank C. Azor, A. Fleming Seay
