Abstract: A method and system of measuring a direct current magnetic field using a plurality of spin centers are disclosed. A spin bath associated with the spin centers may be driven with a first source of electromagnetic radiation to reduce dephasing of the spin centers. The spin centers may be measured using double quantum (DQ) magnetometry in order to reduce the effects of crystal strain on spin dephasing times. An electromagnetic response of at least one of the plurality of spin centers may be observed using an electromagnetic radiation collection device. Accordingly, up to an eight times improvement in DC field sensitivity may be accomplished for a spin center ensemble.

Abstract: Inkjet printing is carried out to provide monochrome or polychrome inkjet-printed images. An ink-receptive medium is provided with a substrate with an aqueous-based ink-receptive layer disposed thereon. The aqueous-based ink-receptive layer has: (a) one or more water-soluble salts of a multivalent metal cation in an amount of 0.6-49 weight %; (b) one or both of a polyvinyl alcohol and a polyvinyl amine (or a copolymer of a vinyl alcohol and vinyl amine) in a total amount of 0.5-30 weight %; and optionally, (c) a crosslinking agent and (d) silica particles. One or more aqueous pigment-based inks are inkjet printed onto this aqueous-based ink-receptive layer, each ink comprising: a) one or more anionically-stabilized pigment colorants; b) one or more water-miscible humectants that are present in a total amount of 1-20 weight % and each having a carbon atom to oxygen atom ratio of at least 1.0:1.0 and only two hydroxy groups.

Abstract: A full duplex, low latency, near field data link controls a resonant induction, wireless power transfer system for recharging batteries. In an electric vehicle embodiment, an assembly is aligned with respect to a ground assembly to receive a charging signal. The vehicle assembly includes one or more charging coils and a first full duplex inductively coupled data communication system that communicates with a ground assembly including one or more charging coils and a second full duplex inductively coupled data communications system. The charging coils of the ground assembly and the vehicle assembly are selectively enabled based on geometric positioning of the vehicle assembly relative to the ground assembly for charging. As appropriate, the transmit/receive system of the ground assembly and/or the vehicle assembly are adjusted to be of the same type to enable communication of charging management and control data between the ground assembly and the vehicle assembly during charging.

Arrangements may include differing lumiphoric regions that are arranged with various alternating patterns including one or more intersecting lines, rows of alternating lumiphoric regions, patterns that alternate in at least two directions, and checkerboard patterns.

Abstract: Air-cooled condensers and air-cooled condenser streets for condensing exhaust steam from a turbine are disclosed. An example air-cooled condenser street includes one or more rows of V-shaped heat exchangers. Each row includes a main steam manifold to introduce exhaust steam into tube bundles that are placed in an inclined position such that condensate formed in the bundles flows back by gravitation to the main steam manifold. Top steam manifolds are connected to the upper end of respectively each of the tube bundles of the air-cooled condenser street. The series of parallel top steam manifolds are forming a support assembly for supporting one or more fan decks. The fan decks support a plurality of fans to induce an air draft in the V-shaped heat exchangers.
