  • Patent number: 10224270
Abstract: An electronic component package includes a substrate having an upper surface. Traces on the upper surface of the substrate extend in a longitudinal direction. The traces have a first latitudinal width in a latitudinal direction, the latitudinal direction being perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. Rectangular copper pillars are attached to bond pads of an electronic component, the copper pillars having a longitudinal length and a latitudinal second width. The latitudinal second width of the copper pillars is equal to and aligned with the first latitudinal width of the traces. Further, the longitudinal length of the copper pillars is parallel with the longitudinal direction of the trace and equal to the length of the bond pads. The copper pillars are mounted to the traces with solder joints.

  • Patent number: 10221563
Abstract: According to one embodiment, an insulated structure includes a frame comprising a plurality of wall studs coupled together and a plurality of foam boards attached to the frame to form a continuous insulative wall. A plurality of fasteners attaches the foam boards to the frame. Each fastener includes an elongate shaft and a cap. The elongate shaft is configured to penetrate through a foam board and into a wall stud to couple the components together. The cap is configured to be positioned atop a foam board to distribute a load relatively evenly to the foam board. A sealing tape is applied across seams between adjacent foam boards and over the fasteners' caps to seal the wall. A sealing caulk is applied to secondary fasteners and penetrations to seal the wall. In some embodiments, the structure has a fastener density of about 1 fastener per 243 in2 of foam board.

  • Patent number: 10222184
Abstract: A toy dart includes a deformable cap that safely impacts a target. The cap includes two layers of substantially parallel hollow passages that provide spaces that allow the cap to deform. The lower layer, having two hollow passages, is supported by exterior posts and an interior wall between the two hollow passages. The upper layer, having three hollow passages, is supported by exterior posts and interior walls that are laterally offset from the interior wall of the lower layer. The upper and lower layers are separated vertically by a substantially flat divider. Due to the difference in the number of hollow passages and interior walls in each layer, the upper layer is more rigid than the lower layer such that the lower layer of the cap deforms more than the upper layer of the cap upon initial impact with the target.

  • Patent number: 10221447
Abstract: The present invention is directed to methods for identifying the presence of one or more methylated or unmethylated target nucleotide sequences in a sample that involve coupled methylation sensitive restriction enzyme digestion-ligation and/or extension processes. In some embodiments, the ligation and primary extension products formed in the reaction processes of the present invention are subsequently amplified using a polymerase chain reaction. The ligation products or primary extension products are detected, and the presence of one or more methylated or unmethylated target nucleotide sequences in the sample is identified based on the detection.

  • Patent number: 10220518
Abstract: Example methods and devices for touch-down detection for a robotic device are described herein. In an example embodiment, a computing system may receive a force signal due to a force experienced at a limb of a robotic device. The system may receive an output signal from a sensor of the end component of the limb. Responsive to the received signals, the system may determine whether the force signal satisfies a first threshold and determine whether the output signal satisfies a second threshold. Based on at least one of the force signal satisfying the first threshold or the output signal satisfying the second threshold, the system of the robotic device may provide a touch-down output indicating touch-down of the end component of the limb with a portion of an environment.

  • Publication number: 20190066685
Abstract: A digital assistant supported on devices such as smartphones, tablets, personal computers, game consoles, etc. includes an extensibility client that exposes an interface and service that enables third party applications to be integrated with the digital assistant so the application user experiences are rendered using the native voice of the digital assistant. Specific voice inputs associated with a given application may be registered by developers using a manifest that is loaded when the application is launched on the device so that voice inputs from the device user can be mapped by the digital assistant extensibility client to the appropriate application as input events for consumption. In typical implementations, the manifest is arranged as a declarative document that streamlines application development and provides a seamless user experience by enabling customization of third party applications to integrate the digital assistant's voice and behaviors within the user experience of the application's domain.

  • Publication number: 20190066666
Abstract: Methods and systems for controlling a portable computing device (“PCD”) are disclosed. In an example method, an always on processor (AoP) of a voice recognition module of the PCD receives a voice command. The AoP determines, without decoding the received voice command, that the received voice command corresponds to a previously determined keyword. The AoP retrieves context data associated with the previously determined keyword. The AoP acts on the voice command using the context data, including in some embodiments automatically triggering a fast dormancy of a communications channel.
