  • Publication number: 20180086211
Abstract: Systems and methods for a twisted rectangular litz wire for generating or receiving wireless electrical power. The rectangular litz wire may be arranged as a DD coil having first and second co-planar loops. The loops may have a shared single-stacked inner portion and double-stacked outer portions. The litz wire may be twisted between the inner and outer portions, such that a width of the coils at the outer portions is defined by a first longer side of the wires, and a width of the coils at the inner portion is defined by a second shorter side of the wires. This arrangement may reduce a size of the DD coil may reducing a width of the shared inner portion.

  • Publication number: 20180088950
Abstract: Technical solutions are described for a supervisory processor to pass an out-of-band communication to a target processor in a multiprocessor system. For example, a first processor in a multi-processor system includes a register configured to store a command from a second processor of the multi-processor system, and to store a response to the command from the second processor. The first processor determines that the second processor has issued the command for execution by the first processor based on a first portion of the register being set to a first state, which is a predetermined state. The first processor also, responsively, reads the command from the second processor by parsing a second portion of the register. The first processor includes executes the command and stores the response for the command in the register.

  • Patent number: 9926747
Abstract: Signal communications at a drilling system generally includes communicating upwards or downwards from the rig floor. For example, signal communications upwards may comprise the control of a cementing head operation (e.g., actuating cementing head). Signal communications downwards may comprise the activation of tools and their confirmation (e.g., hole opening tools, liner hangers, and packers). Actuation may be performed via umbilicals, for example, via pressure spikes or the dropping of balls, darts, or radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags. However, issues may arise wherein, for example, a ball may not properly land to close a circulation valve. As another example, a cementing head could be over 100 feet above the rig floor, which may make it difficult for signal communications via an umbilical. Accordingly, what is needed are techniques and apparatus for activation of tools and their confirmation by a remote communication system.

  • Publication number: 20180083144
Abstract: Foil trim approaches for the foil-based metallization of solar cells and the resulting solar cells are described. For example, a method involves attaching a metal foil sheet to a metallized surface of an underlying supported wafer to provide a unified pairing of the metal foil sheet and the wafer. Subsequent to attaching the metal foil sheet, a portion of the metal foil sheet is laser scribed from above to form a groove in the metal foil sheet. Subsequent to laser scribing the metal foil sheet, the unified pairing of the metal foil sheet and the wafer is rotated to provide the metal sheet below the wafer. Subsequent to the rotating, the unified pairing of the metal foil sheet and the wafer is placed on a chuck with the metal sheet below the wafer. The metal foil sheet is torn at least along the groove to trim the metal foil sheet.

  • Publication number: 20180084041
Abstract: A dynamic rebalancer operates in a server cluster independently of routers directing traffic to the servers in the cluster. An analysis component uses configuration information and statistics information to determine which session, if any, should be moved. A filter component receives transfer instructions from the analysis component. When the filter component receives transfer instructions from the analysis component, the filter component adds a redirect command to the client request. The filter component continually redirects client requests within the session to the new server until the client receives the redirect command and begins to send client requests to the new server.

  • Publication number: 20180081388
Abstract: Examples described herein relate to concurrently performing operations on optical signals. In an example, a method includes providing, to an optical circuit, a first plurality of signals having a first optical property and encoding a first vector. A second plurality of signals is provided to the circuit that encodes a second vector and has a second optical property that is different from the first optical property. A first attribute-dependent operation is performed on the first plurality of signals via the circuit to perform a first matrix multiplication operation on the first vector, and concurrently, a second attribute-dependent operation is performed on the second plurality of signals to perform a second matrix multiplication operation on the second vector. The first matrix multiplication operation and the second matrix multiplication operation are different based on the first optical property being different from the second optical property.
