  • Publication number: 20190045707
Abstract: A multi-blade mower includes at least two spindles spaced apart from each other. In one example implementation, two blades are mounted at different heights on each respective spindle, and the blades at each spindle have different lengths. Horizontal clearance is provided between the lower blades, and the cutting circle of one of the upper blades overhangs the clearance zone between the lower blades, so that any grass missed between the lower blades is cut by the overhanging upper blade. The two blades on each spindle are spaced apart by a blade spacer between the blades.

  • Publication number: 20040000823
Abstract: An actuator device adapted to move an object. The actuator device includes a motor connectable with a power source and a rotatable member coupled to the motor for rotation about a central axis. The actuator device also includes a swivel arm positioned on the rotatable member for rotation about the central axis relative to the rotatable member. The swivel arm receives movement from a driving portion of the rotatable member. Further, the actuator device includes a cable coupling the swivel arm with the object, whereby the object is movable in response to movement of the swivel arm.

  • Patent number: 5427217
Abstract: A self-contained steering, clutch, and brake assembly is provided having a housing for connection to a rotating drive shaft having a drive hub mounted on an extension thereof, a brake hub mounted to the housing, and a clutch drum movable to engage either the drive hub or the brake hub. These engagements are made through coaxial, multi-disk clamping assemblies which serve to increase engagement surface area within the minimal confines of the housing. The clutch drum is constantly connected to a standard size wheel axle through a compound reduction chain drive which is also enclosed by the housing. The clutch drum is normally biased into engagement with the drive hub and a rotary cam actuator is provided to move the clutch hub against the biasing spring and into engagement with the brake hub. The housing is adapted to be bolted directly to the mower deck without special deck reconfiguration.

  • Patent number: 4378644
Abstract: A hand carriable powered snow removal apparatus having an internal combustion engine power unit removably connected to one end of a tubular boom which supports an elongated drive shaft connected to the engine power takeoff shaft at and to a right angle drive gear unit mounted at the opposite end of the boom. The gear unit includes a housing mounted on the end of the boom and providing a centered drive arrangement for a pair of opposed paddle type impellers mounted on respective ends of an output shaft projecting from opposite sides of the gear housing. A shroud mounted on the gear housing includes an upwardly projecting rear wall and spaced apart lateral side walls partially enclosing the impellers and providing directional control for the snow being discharged from the impellers. A set of movable guide vanes is mounted on the forward end of the shroud and is adjustable to provide for varying the directional attitude of snow being discharged from the shroud.
