Publication number: 20250135239Abstract: A method for reducing foreign body response in a subject caused by an electrode implanted in a subject's neural tissue at a target site provides positioning a device having a body, ultrasonic transducer, and acoustic coupling medium in contact with the neural tissue proximate to the target site. The method continues with activating a transducer, generating acoustic vibrations, transmitting the acoustic vibrations to the neural tissue at the target site, and applying the acoustic vibrations to the neural tissue at the target site sufficient to reduce the foreign body response in the neural tissue at the target site. The acoustic vibrations are preferably in the ultrasonic range and are pulsed for a duration of 5-200 milliseconds. A treatment protocol may consist of repeat sessions in which the transducer is activated and the acoustic vibrations are applied for 1-15 minutes, then turned off for 1-15 minutes, and repeated 2-10 times.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 3, 2025Publication date: May 1, 2025Applicant: Actuated Medical, Inc.Inventors: Alanoud S Alsubhi, Roger B Bagwell, Jenna K Greaser, Kevin A Snook, Natasha A Tirko, Kyle W Gheres, Ryan S Clement

Patent number: 12221243Abstract: A system moves items, like containers and/or pallets, through a label printing station. The station has a label printer that prints adhesive labels; and a robot arm terminating at a movable end with a suction pad or vacuum device and sensors. The station has sensors configured to measure a height of the item; and a processor coupled to receive the height of the item, to control the robot arm and label printer, and to receive label information from a server. The processor has a memory containing code that computes desired label positions based on height of the container/pallet. A method of labeling an item includes printing an adhesive label with the label information obtained from a server; receiving the adhesive label on a suction pad or vacuum device attached to a movable end of a robot arm, and determining a first labeling position from measured height of the container/pallet.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2023Date of Patent: February 11, 2025Assignee: SHAW INDUSTRIES GROUP, INC.Inventors: Brian Michael Ghere, Timothy David Ralston

Publication number: 20240366966Abstract: An assembly for reducing foreign body response in a subject caused by an invasive or non-invasive tissue injury at a target site. A base with aperture is secured to the subject in proximity to the target site with an implant extending therethrough. The base includes a sloped channel that receives an alignment tab of a housing, permitting vertical adjustment of the housing relative to the base along a continuum by rotation of the housing. The housing contains a transducer generating vibrations when activated, an acoustic horn in contact with the transducer transmitting the vibrations through the base aperture to the subject tissue at the target site, and a compressible polymer surrounding a portion of the horn at the terminal end of the housing that conforms to the subject's interface and transmits vibrations to the target site for reducing foreign body response or microgliosis in the subject.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 14, 2024Publication date: November 7, 2024Applicant: Actuated Medical, Inc.Inventors: Roger B. Bagwell, Maureen L. Mulvihill, Kyle W. Gheres, Jenna K. Greaser, Kevin A. Snook

Publication number: 20230049468Abstract: A device for reducing foreign body response in a subject caused by an electrode implanted in a subject's tissue. A base is secured to the subject, having a base aperture in proximity to the target site. The base can receive and align a body thereon. A body contains a chamber extending between a chamber aperture, aligned with the base aperture, at one end and a chamber opening at an opposite end. The chamber contains an acoustic coupling medium, such as polyvinyl alcohol cryogel, transmits acoustic vibrations from a transducer without altering their frequency. The transducer is mounted to the device and is configured to transmit acoustic vibrations into the chamber and through said acoustic coupling medium to the subject tissue at the target site, creating an acoustic field in the target site sufficient to reduce foreign body response in the subject where the electrode contacts the target tissue.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 10, 2022Publication date: February 16, 2023Applicant: Actuated Medical, Inc.Inventors: Alanoud S Alsubhi, Roger B Bagwell, Jenna K Greaser, Kevin A Snook, Natasha A Tirko, Kyle W Gheres, Ryan S Clement

Patent number: 5608198Abstract: An arrangement in an electrical switching device for protection against electrical arcs comprises a tripping mechanism, a stationary contact carrier, a movable contact carrier, an exhaust vent, an arc runner, and an arc extinguishing barrier. The stationary contact carrier has a stationary contact mounted thereon, and the movable contact carrier has a movable contact mounted thereon. In response to an overcurrent condition, the tripping mechanism causes the movable contact carrier to rotate from a closed position to an open position, thereby generating an electrical arc. In the closed position the movable contact abuts the stationary contact, and in the open position the movable contact is separated from the stationary contact. The arc extinguishing barrier is composed of an outgassing material and is located between the stationary contact and a portion of the tripping mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 1995Date of Patent: March 4, 1997Assignee: Square D CompanyInventors: Robert J. Patent number: 5581063Abstract: In an electrical switching device including a stationary contact carrier having a stationary contact mounted thereon, a contact carrier assembly comprises a movable contact carrier and an arc-resistant protective shield. The movable contact carrier has a movable contact mounted thereon. The movable contact carrier is movable between a closed position and an open position. The movable contact abuts the stationary contact while the movable contact carrier is in the closed position, and the movable contact is separated from the stationary contact while the movable contact carrier is in the open position. The arc-resistant protective shield is mounted to the movable contact carrier and surrounds the movable contact. The shield protects the movable contact carrier from electrical arcs generated during circuit interruption.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 1995Date of Patent: December 3, 1996Assignee: Square D CompanyInventors: Robert J.
