    Abstract: The invention comprises a process for cracking liquid hydrocarbon feed to produce cracked gaseous hydrocarbons comprising feeding a liquid hydrocarbon feed stream to an olefins furnace; cracking the liquid hydrocarbon feed stream in the olefins furnace to produce a gaseous cracked effluent stream; feeding the cracked effluent from the olefins furnace to a primary transfer line heat exchanger (TLE) having two sections; injecting a first wetting fluid in a weight ratio of wetting fluid to hot gaseous effluent tangentially into the hot gaseous effluent stream at a particular location in the second section of the primary TLE; feeding the hot gaseous effluent stream exiting from the TLE to a separator; separating a separator bottoms stream comprising tar and heavier hydrocarbons and a separator product stream comprising an olefin product; and recovering an olefin product from the separator product stream.

    Abstract: The instant invention comprises an improved hydrorefining process which comprises contacting hydrocarbonaceous oil feed and hydrogen with a catalyst comprising a hydrogenation component selected from the group consisting of Group VIB metal component, Group VIII non-noble metal component and mixtures thereof, optionally comprising a phosphorous-containing component or compound, and an alumina-containing support, at hydrorefining conditions, wherein the improvement comprises heating the catalyst at initial start-up from a temperature below about 450.degree. F. to hydrorefining temperature at an average rate of less than 30.degree. F. per hour in the presence of hydrogen and said oil feed.

    Abstract: Catalyst and hydrocarbon vapors are separated in a cyclone zone attached to the discharge of a riser cracking operation. A vortex stabilizer separating the cyclone zone from a stripping zone allows stripping gas from the stripping zone to be passed upwardly into the cyclone zone countercurrent to the downward flow of catalyst, thereby improving the separation and stripping of gaseous hydrocarbons from separated catalyst. The combined cyclone-stripping zone reduces catalyst hydrocarbon contact time, thereby improving gasoline yield and olefin content, decreasing gas make, and reducing coke deposits.
