  • Patent number: 6359666
Abstract: An active matrix-liquid crystal display device includes an array substrate 100 on which pixel electrodes 151, signal lines 103 with first and second conductive layers 103a and 103b are formed. The first conductive layers 103a and the pixel electrodes 151 are subject to patterning using a same mask in a same optical exposure process. The first conductive layers 103a are wider in width than the second conductive layers 103b. The pixel electrodes 151 and the signal lines 103 maintain constant relative positions on display areas thereby to hardly cause unevenness of resultant images and to enable the device to display better dignity images.

  • Patent number: 6357649
Abstract: A plurality of solder bumps are arranged in a row at regular pitch in a lead wire soldering region of a solar battery. A soldering apparatus for soldering a lead wire to the lead wire soldering region via the solder bumps comprises a lead wire feeding section for feeding out the lead wire. An end of the lead wire in the lead wire feeding section is chucked and the lead wire is laid over all length of the row of solder bumps. The soldering apparatus further comprises a soldering unit for soldering the lead wire onto the solder bump. The soldering unit has a lead wire holding member for holding the lead wire on a solder bump and a soldering iron. The soldering apparatus repeats an operation for welding the lead wire to the solder bump by means of the soldering iron, while the lead wire is held by the lead wire holding member.

  • Publication number: 20020032817
Abstract: In a data processing system, a plurality of modules connected to a system bus thereof are assigned with identifiers. When a source module initiates a split read access to another module, the source module sends an address of the access destination module and an identifier of the source module. When sending a response to the source module, the destination module returns response data and the identifier of the source module thereto. Checking the identifier from the destination module, the source module determines the response data returned as a response to the initiated access.

  • Publication number: 20020030484
Abstract: In an electronic caliper, a detecting circuit 112 detects displacement of a grid with respect to a scale, on the basis of a signal from a transducer 110. A CPU 114 displays the detected position on a display device 124. The CPU 114 performs error detection on the transducer, only when the relative speed of the grid with respect the scale is zero, or becomes equal to or smaller than a predetermined value. Since error detection is performed only at a predetermined timing, power consumption can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20020029764
Abstract: To enable accurate detection of the alternative ambient pressure when the correction of fuel supply is carried out by the used of the value of the ambient pressure substituted by the negative pressure in the inlet pipe. The difference between the calculated alternative ambient pressure and the estimated ambient pressure (offset) is set as a plurality of functions of the number of engine revolutions and the throttle opening, and stored in the area determination section with a plurality of areas divided by each offset value. In which area the condition of the engine resides is determined from the number of engine revolution and the throttle opening and the offset corresponding to the area is supplied. The calculation section calculates the calculation base value by the use of the negative pressure PB and the offset. When the relationship between the calculated base value and the last determined alternative ambient pressure is constant, the alternative ambient pressure is renewed by the calculation base value.

  • Patent number: 6354901
Abstract: In a discharge lamp sealing apparatus 30, luminescent substances are charged into an arc tube 11 through an opening 13b thereof, and an electrode member 15 is then inserted into the arc tube 11 through the opening 13b. A lower end of the arc tube 11 is supported by a support jig 57 in a state that a glass ring 16c is placed around the circumference of the opening 13b. The arc tube 11 is set in an air-tight condition by a feeding conduit 51 and inserted into a heating unit 40. The heating unit 40 fuses the glass ring 16c with heat of an infrared lamp and thereby seals the opening 13b. During the sealing process, one end of the arc tube 11 is supported by the support jig 57. The support jig 57 is mainly made of a material having a greater thermal conductivity than that of the material of the arc tube 11, for example, a metal material like Al or Cu. This arrangement enables heat to be readily conducted from the arc tube 11 to the support jig 57 and accordingly prevents a temperature rise in the arc tube 11.
