  • Publication number: 20110099537
Abstract: Many computer applications involve event driven programming. Unfortunately, it may be burdensome on application developers to develop event handlers in unmanaged code for all relevant events within their computer application. For example, when using COM objects in connection with event handling, the burden of lifetime management may be placed on the application developer. Accordingly, one or more systems and/or techniques for event handling in unmanaged code are disclosed herein. A delegate comprising a first interface and a second interface is provided. The delegate may receive event data from a software platform connected to the first interface and may notify a function of a process connected to the second interface. The delegate self destructs when both the computing platform and the process have released their connections to the respective interfaces, thus mitigating manual coding of lifetime management functionality within the process.

  • Publication number: 20110091125
Abstract: A method for imaging is presented. The method includes acquiring a plurality of images corresponding to at least one field of view at a plurality of sample distances. Furthermore, the method includes determining a figure of merit corresponding to each pixel in each of the plurality of acquired images. The method also includes for each pixel in each of the plurality of acquired images identifying an image in the plurality of images that yields a best figure of merit for that pixel. Moreover, the method includes generating an array for each image in the plurality of images. In addition, the method includes populating the arrays based upon the determined best figures of merit to generate a set of populated arrays. Also, the method includes processing each populated array in the set of populated arrays using a bit mask to generate bit masked filtered arrays. • Patent number: 7926425
Abstract: A tram has a lead vehicle and one or more trailing vehicles coupled to it. Each vehicle has sets of front and rear wheels, both sets being steerable independently of the other. A manual controller provides signals to a processor in the lead vehicle, which in turn steers the front and rear wheels along a desired path. A processor on the first trailing vehicle controls front and rear servos to steer its wheels according to the path of the rear wheels of the leading vehicle. The second trailing vehicle has a processor that steers its front and rear wheels according to information provided by the first leading vehicle. Steering sensors on the vehicles sense distance to a steering rail while the vehicles are on a guideway and provide signals to the processors for automatic steering. While on a guideway, the tram uses power collectors to transfer power from the guideway.

  • Patent number: 7922356
Abstract: An illumination apparatus comprising an optics module wherein a driving circuit may be disposed within the proximal base portion of the optics module. The proximal base portion may further be releasably secured within an independent heat dissipating element. Such an apparatus may be very beneficial in light emitting diode (LED) applications due to its efficient conduction and dissipation of heat away from the LED semiconductor junction. Additionally, a releasable optics module comprising a plurality of LEDs and a driving circuit provides for cost efficient and environmentally friendly replacement of such a component at the end of its lifespan. The heat dissipating element (e.g. heat sink) may continue to be used, while only the optics module need be replaced or serviced as required. Precious environmental resources may thus be conserved and maintenance costs reduced while concurrently extending the lifespan of such an inventive illumination apparatus.
