  • Patent number: 9234647
Abstract: A light engine that includes light emitting diodes mounted on a printed circuit board, which in turn is attached to a heat sink. An optic assembly is positioned over the printed circuit board to direct the emitted light as desired. The light engine can be positioned. within the ceiling within the opening of a mounting frame. In some embodiments, the light engine is retained on the mounting frame such that it can be moved clear of the mounting frame opening.

  • Publication number: 20140268797
Abstract: A light engine that allows for customization and easy adjustability of various properties of the distributed light. The light engine includes an optic holder having threads that engage with threads of a mounting ring to allow a lower reflector and/or a diffuser lens to be replaced without removing the entire light engine from the installation. The light engine also includes an upper reflector that interfaces with the optic holder so that the upper reflector also can be easily replaced without removing the entire light engine from the installation.

  • Patent number: 5615502
Abstract: A plate closure for use in an internally illuminated sign having a plurality of wiring ports to provide access to the interior of the sign for connecting wires from a power source including a housing made up of a pair of interlockable halves. Each of the halves has a peripheral sealing lip opposed to the peripheral lip of the other half to form a peripheral housing wall. The housing wall has a pair of substantially parallel opposed end walls, a top housing wall and a bottom wall. A top wiring port is formed in the top wall. A left wiring port is formed in one of the end walls, and a right wiring port is formed in the other of the end walls. Each of the wiring ports provides a selective access to the interior of the housing to provide wiring for a light source. Each of the walls, having one of the wiring ports, has a mounting groove in a portion of the housing wall defining the wiring port. Each mounting groove extends into the respective wall and opens into the respective wiring port.

  • Patent number: 5505419
Abstract: A bar hanger used in a recessed light fixture assembly to support the assembly on a support member. The bar hanger has an elongated arm which has its length substantially greater than its width. A mounting ear is fixed on one end of the arm. The mounting ear is adapted to be connected to a fastener to secure the ear to a support member. The arm has a score extending across the length of the arm so that the arm may be selectively fractured at the score to shorten the length of the arm.

  • Patent number: 5336100
Abstract: A connector is securely mounted on the end of a low voltage track. The connector is electrically connected to a pair of spaced conductive wires in the tracks. The conductive wires are separated in an insulator body. The insulator body has a pair of opposed inwardly extending edges. The terminal includes a base having a pair of opposed resilient side walls. Each of the side walls defines in part a respective longitudinal receptacle groove. Each receptacle groove is parallel to the other groove. A cantilever tongue is formed integral with the side walls and is substantially parallel to the grooves. The tongue is positioned between the opposed edges of the insulator body. The tongue has opposed portions positioned under the inwardly extending edges of the insulator body. A connector belt is positioned in each of the receptacle grooves. Each connector belt receives a wire from the low voltage track.

  • Patent number: 5113990
Abstract: A bill validation and change system for a slot machine. The system accepts bills of a plurality of denominations and pays out change for the bills in coins of the denomation which may be accepted by the slot machine to play a game. Coins input to the slot machine are stored in a coin hopper which is controlled to payout coins to game winners and to make change for bills. The system includes a master processor which determines winning game plays and whether change for a bill should be made. The master processor further controls the coin hopper to payout coins to winners and to make change for a bill. The master processor is coupled to a slave processor which in conjunction with a bill input device determines the validity and denomination of a received bill. The slave processor controls the bill input device to accept valid bills for which the master processor determines that change should be made and to reject other bills.

  • Patent number: 4972339
Abstract: A recessed light fixture assembly includes a plaster frame having a rectangular floor. A bar hanger bracket is supportably connected to each of two opposed edges of the floor. Each bar hanger bracket includes a support ledge supportably connected to its respective edge of the floor, and an upright sidewall formed integral with each support ledge. A bar hanger retaining finger is formed integral with each side of the sidewall. A pair of opposed retaining tabs is formed integral with each side of each sidewall and is spaced from the retaining finger on the respective side. A bar hanger including an elongated arm is positioned between each pair of retaining tabs and is thereby slideably connected to each bar hanger bracket and captured by the retaining finger. Each bar hanger has an elongated arm which arm has two assembly notches in one edge.
