  • Patent number: 7576763
Abstract: Reflex writing is a group of algorithms developed to maintain color registration in xerographic systems using multiple imagers, in which sequential color separations are written based on events in the spatial domain. The imaging system includes a raster output scanner imager for the black station and a light emitting diode bar for the color station. A simulated machine clock signal is generated based on a running average of a plurality of actual machine clock periods determined from pulses received from a photoreceptor module drive roll encoder. For each black scanline written the distance the belt travels is tracked using the simulated machine clock signal, and when the black latent image scanline has traveled the known distance between the two imagers, the light emitting diode scanline is written registered with respect to the raster output scanner scanline.

  • Patent number: 7565662
Abstract: An Event Manager receives events requiring action. The events are parsed into event action types which are placed in an Event Queue. Program agents in a pool of agents are dynamically instantiated and retired from the pool based on the number of queued events by type. Program agents, when available, initiate a search for a work entry on the Event Queue that is of a type that the agent can handle. When an agent finds work, the corresponding Event Queue entry is marked as assigned to the agent and the agent performs the action associated with the work entry.

  • Patent number: 7555536
Abstract: The invention is directed to techniques for providing an audibly controlled interface for a user of a limited audio-based communication device, for example, a telephony device such as a desktop telephone or a cellular telephone. The communication device has an interface connection with a proxy browser. The user initially accesses the device, such as by picking up the handset, and the proxy browser provides a communication path over a network to a call services application on an application server. The application server provides a response to the initial access signal. The proxy browser receives the response from the application server and plays back an audio output based on the response to the communication device for the user. The user can then respond with a request to the call services application to place an outbound call or to initiate another service provided by the application server via the proxy browser.

  • Publication number: 20090163356
Abstract: An improved soot catalyst is comprised of an alkali compound at least partially coated by a ceramic coating comprised of C bonded to a metal, semimetallic element or combination thereof. The improved soot catalyst may be employed in catalyzed Diesel particulate filters. In one method to make a catalyzed Diesel particulate filter, the improved filter is made by contacting a porous ceramic body having an alkali catalyst thereon, coating the alkali catalyst with an organic ceramic precursor, heating the ceramic body to a temperature in an atmosphere sufficient to decompose the organic ceramic precursor to form the soot catalyst on the porous ceramic body without volatilizing substantial amount of the alkali catalyst away.

  • Patent number: 7552200
Abstract: The invention is directed to techniques for providing an event notification string over a network to a notification server. An application server includes a notifying application that monitors, or otherwise determines, the occurrence of an event of interest to a target user who uses a device that can receive notification of the event. The notifying application generates an event notification string that indicates that a notification to the target user should be made. The notifying application then sends the event notification string over a network, such as an IP (Internet Protocol) network, to a notification server, which provides an event notification application that processes the event notification string. The event notification application determines the identity of the target user, if the event notification string does not provide this information itself, and which devices accessed by the target user should receive the notification.

  • Patent number: 7549339
Abstract: A method of identifying a flaw in a part is provided that includes vibrating a part to induce heat. The heat originates in any flaws in the part. A thermal image is obtained using, for example, an infrared camera. A mathematical representation of the thermophysics, such as the heat conduction or thermal energy equations using the boundary element method or finite element method is used to identify a source and an intensity of the heat identified with the thermal image. Using the source and intensity of the heat, flaw characteristics for the part can be determined. The method is employed using an inspection system that includes a vibration device for vibrating the part. An imaging device, such as an infrared camera, measures temperature on the surface of the part. An assumption is made or additional measurements are taken to obtain values for surface flux or surface heat transfer coefficients. A processor communicates with the imaging device for receiving the surface temperature.

  • Patent number: 7552232
Abstract: A system and method that utilizes a dedicated transmission queue to enable expedited transmission of data messages to adaptive “nearest neighbor” nodes within a cluster. Packet descriptors are pre-fetched by the communications adapter hardware during the transmission of the preceding data element and setup for the next transmission is performed in parallel with the transmission of the preceding data element. Data elements of a fixed length that is equal to the cache line size of the communication hardware can optionally be used to provide optimized transfer between computer memory and communications hardware. The data receiving processing can also be optimized to recognize and handle cache line size data elements.
