Patent number: 11674087Abstract: A portable, sustainable, and efficient system and apparatus for breaking down processed solid plastic waste and other polymer-based feedstock into fuel oil, sustainable energy, carbon char, and other useful products. With minor modifications, biomass can also be treated. Distributed microwave heating sources and mechanical mixing effectively mix heat in a highly insulated reactor that protects the microwave components, makes fast pyrolysis possible, and thereby enables scaling down to compact and highly portable systems. Products include diesel, gasoline, propane, butane, and char. Product materials are distributed using tight temperature control and mechanical routing.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2019Date of Patent: June 13, 2023Inventors: Brian Bauer, Jason Tanne, Tyler Spott, Frank Mayhew, A. Publication number: 20140246379Abstract: An expansion ring has multiple adjustable expansion joints and plural bolts around the periphery of the ring that have pointed tips that bear into the sides of an existing manhole. The combination of the expansion joints and bolts allows the expansion ring to be securely affixed in the manhole. A filter basket assembly is suspended from the expansion ring into the manhole. Plural expansion rings with filter basket assemblies are strategically located along a clean-out route so that a full Vactor truck or sweeper may be emptied—decanted—into the filter basket assemblies on-route rather than at a traditional treatment plants.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 13, 2014Publication date: September 4, 2014Inventor: Stephen J. Patent number: 8221632Abstract: A plate is positioned across an inlet to a catch basin and a filter strainer is inserted through an opening through the plate and into the basin. A tertiary filter completely surrounds the strainer and is suspended below the plate. Surface water flows through a primary grate that covers the catch basin, through the strainer and through the tertiary filter. The tertiary filter comprising fibrous filter media retained in a non-woven mesh fabric enclosure and the filter media is selected according to the type of contaminants that are to be removed.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2009Date of Patent: July 17, 2012Assignee: Cleanway Environmental Partners, Inc.Inventors: Stephen J. Patent number: 7411555Abstract: Various antenna designs that are small and cost effective are disclosed. In one design, the antenna is a bent and folded monopole antenna. In another design, the antenna is a folded and tapped monopole antenna. In yet another design, the antenna is a folded, bent, and tapped monopole antenna. The antennas may be part of a system using two back-to-back symmetric antennas. The antennas may be part of a modem, such as a wireless computer modem or a wireless handset.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2003Date of Patent: August 12, 2008Assignee: Texas Instruments IncorporatedInventor: A. Patent number: 7313811Abstract: A residential gateway (RG) for distributing video, data and telephony services to multiple devices within a residence is disclosed. The RG receives signals from a telecommunications network, converts the signals to formats compatible with the multiple devices, and transmits the appropriate signals to the appropriate devices. Optical Remote Control devices (RCs) associated with remotely located televisions (TVs) transmit channel select commands to the RG as optical signals. The optical signals are received by an optical receiver located in close proximity to the remotely located TVs. The optical signal is then converted to an RF signal by an RF transmitter which transmits the RF signal over coaxial cable. A Remote Antennae Module (RAM) extracts the channel select command from the RF signal and provides it to the RG.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2000Date of Patent: December 25, 2007Assignee: General Instrument CorporationInventors: Steve Sheppard, A. Patent number: 6300828Abstract: A high potential/high efficiency amplifier contains at least two separate amplifiers. One amplifier is used for the typical inputs that are received from an input source and a second amplifier is used solely for peak inputs. Utilizing the second amplifier to handle the peak inputs allows the first amplifier to concentrate solely on the typical inputs. A small resistor tied to the output of the second amplifier reduces the output of the second amplifier. Thus, when the output of the first and second amplifiers are equal, the output of the first amplifier will be applied to the load. When the input exceeds the operational value for the first amplifier, the first amplifier logically disconnects itself from the load and the output of the second amplifier is applied to the load. Once the input returns to a value within the limits of the first amplifier, the first amplifier becomes operational again, and the resistor again becomes a barrier to the second output being applied to the load.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2000Date of Patent: October 9, 2001Assignee: Next Level CommunicationsInventor: A. Patent number: 6200484Abstract: A sump tank insert is inserted into preexisting catch basins and is covered with a grate that acts as a primary filter for large debris. A deflector plate is positioned across the inlet to the tank and a filter basket is suspended into the tank from the deflector plate. Surface water flowing through the grate and the secondary filter of the filter basket flows through a tertiary filter comprising fibrous synthetic filter media interposed between the secondary filter basket and the outlet pipe. The filter media of the tertiary filter is selected according to the type of contaminants that are to be removed, and petrochemicals such as oils from cars that is contained in run-off from parking lots and the like.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2000Date of Patent: March 13, 2001Inventor: Stephen J.
