Abstract: An underwater acoustic projector system that includes a linear array of acoustic projectors in close proximity such that the acoustic projectors interact with one another when they produce acoustic pressures, wherein each acoustic projector in the linear array is spaced apart from an adjacent acoustic projector by a respective distance, and wherein the respective distance between two acoustic projectors proximate the center of the linear array is greater than the respective distance between two acoustic projectors proximate the end of the linear array.

Abstract: Example systems and methods of providing a connection with a backend processing system are presented. In one example, a request for a connection between the backend processing system and a user of an application is received. One of a plurality of connections with the backend processing system is selected. Each of the plurality of connections is bound with a corresponding generic user session in the backend processing system. In response to the request, the selected connection is unbound from a generic user session and bound with a user session corresponding to the user of the application. Access to the selected connection is provided to the user of the application.

Abstract: Systems and methods for populating an on-line form using voice interaction. The method includes: parsing the form into: i) a first field to be filled in by a user; and ii) a first text identifier associated with the first field; converting the first text identifier to first synthesized speech; playing the first synthesized speech aloud to thereby prompt the user to respond with a first verbal answer; converting the first verbal answer to a first text response; and inserting the first text response into the first field.

The circumferential warp fibers extend substantially in a first fiber direction. Weft fibers are inserted in a weft region between the textile inner diameter and the textile outer diameter extend substantially in a second fiber direction along a weft fiber axis. The weft fiber axis has a predefined angle with respect to a radial axis greater than zero degrees and less than ninety degrees. Knitted chain stitches secure the weft fibers to the circumferential warp fibers, where the knitted chain stitches are knitted across the weft region in a third fiber direction. The circumferential warp fibers and the weft fibers are non-interlaced, thereby forming a helical textile having a substantially uniform thickness from the textile inner diameter to the textile outer diameter.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing and updating information relating to economic entities using sets of unique identifiers. A universe database contains record entries. Each of the record entries is associated with a unique universe identifier. A customer database contains customer record entries. Each customer record entry is associated with a unique customer identifier. A conversion table provides a mapping between the unique universe identifiers and the unique customer identifiers. The information contained in the customer database is updated using the unique universe identifiers, unique customer identifiers and the conversion table. The unique universe identifiers and the unique customer identifiers are stable over a period of time.

Abstract: An Automatic Pulse Tracer Velocimeter (APTV) including arc-type APTVs and cross-type APTVs along with a field station and a master station capable of wireless communication with a remote computing devices. The APTV measures flow velocity in a flowable medium by injecting a small amount of a conductive tracer solution into a water column. Following injection, a plurality of wire detector pairs positioned downstream of the injection point are programmed to continuously make conductivity measurements at pre-determined time intervals. A tracer curve of the conductivity measurements over time is created and used to obtain velocity measurements.

Abstract: A method of forming tunnels(6), and tunnels formed thereby, said tunnels in one embodiment being of a form to carry transport routes (1) such as rail and road transport therealong. The method allows the tunnel to be formed from one or more access points (2) by allowing the tunnel structure (6) to be progressively extended out from the tunnel by advancing deck structures (24) along guide means (20) which are formed as part of a base structure (18). The deck structures (24) can also be used to support excavation equipment (28) and/or act as transport routes for access to the leading edge of the tunnel as it is formed. This greatly reduces the need for separate access and works to be provided adjacent to the tunnel as it is formed and therefore reduces the level of reinstatement works required after the tunnel has been formed.

Abstract: A fluid treatment apparatus comprises an electrochemical cell having fluid orifices to receive input fluid and release output fluid, the input fluid having a first level of a microorganism. First and second electrodes are about a water-splitting membrane in the electrochemical cell. A valve controls the flow of fluid through fluid orifices of the electrochemical cell. A power supply supplies a current to the first and second electrodes. A control module comprises program code to operate the valve to flow the input fluid into a fluid orifice of the electrochemical cell and provide a residence time of the fluid in the cell of at least 0.05 minutes, while controlling the power supply to supply to the first and second electrodes, a current having a current density of from about 0.01 to about 20 mA/cm2.

Abstract: Methods and systems for upgrading passengers from commercial airline flights to private aircraft flights are disclosed. The problem of having a return flight of a private aircraft without revenue generating passengers is solved by selecting a commercial airline flight which best overlaps the return flight of the private aircraft, and offering commercial airline passengers booked on the selected commercial airline flight an opportunity to upgrade to the private aircraft flight. Commercial airline passengers willing to upgrade pay an incremental fee which may be used to offset the cost of the return flight of the private aircraft. Commercial airline passengers may be selected based on their participation in commercial airline marketing programs such as those based on total accumulated miles flown.
