  • Publication number: 20060063213
Abstract: A method of cancer screening comprising the steps of administering the Blood CA 27,29 testing procedure; if the result is positive administering a mammogram; if the result is positive administering an needle biopsy; if the result is positive administering a PET scan; if the result is positive administering a blood tumor cell count. If all of the foregoing steps are positive, the cancer is treated by applying imiquimod transdermally to rotating sites, preferably by mixing ALDARA™ (imiguimod) 5% cream with an equal amount of H base cream™; administering a vaccine containing tumor necrosis factor alpha, preferably the BCG vaccine; and orally administering VALTREX™ (valacyelovir) twice daily. • Publication number: 20050196293
Abstract: A pump assembly and estimation and control system therefor, the pump adapted for continuous flow pumping of blood. In a particular form, the pump is a centrifugal pump wherein the impeller is entirely sealed within the pump housing and is exclusively hydrodynamically suspended therein against movement in three translational and two rotational degrees of freedom as the impeller rotates within the fluid urged by electromagnetic means external to the pump cavity. Hydrodynamic suspension is assisted by the impeller having deformities therein such as blades with surfaces tapered from the leading edges to the trailing edges of bottom and top surfaces thereof.

  • Patent number: 5180793
Abstract: The invention is a polyester and a method for producing a polyester filament which has a combination of flame resistance and low pilling properties. The method comprises forming a polyester polymer from a mixture of two polymers, the first compound being the reaction product of terephthalic acid or dimethyl terephthalate, ethylene glycol, and an oxysilicon compound and the second compound being the reaction product of terephthalic acid or dimethyl terephthalate, ethylene glycol and a phosphinic acid in the amount between 0.5 and 20 mole percent of the terephthalate acid and monomer. In particular, the invention also comprises the enhanced fiber formed by the process, as well as the fabrics having a pilling of about 3 to less than 5 as measured in accordance with ASTM D-3512-82.

  • Patent number: 4126927
Abstract: An apparatus and method for inserting rigid cores into flexible tubing comprises a frame having a tubing retainer and a motor device, having a chuck and being mounted on the frame in spaced relation to said retainer for engaging and translating the core longitudinally and coaxially with respect to the tubing. A tapered tip is connected with the free end of the core, and a source of pressurized air is attached to the tubing in communication with the central, axial aperture thereof. An inclined leading edge of the tip is shaped to mate with the tubing aperture, and is translated into sealing abutment with the terminal edge of the tubing free end. Pressurized air is introduced into the tubing and radially expands the unconstricted side wall thereof to an enlarged diameter for inserting the core therein.

  • Patent number: 4102335
Abstract: A male potency device comprises a ring member adapted to surround the male genitalia having at least one pair of metallic surfaces of metals having different electrode potentials on its internal circumference, said surface being adapted to remain in contact with the male genitalia when the device is worn; and adjusting means whereby the circumference of the ring member may be varied. Preferred adjusting means comprises a rotatable section of the ring member which is rotatable with respect to the ring member and is maintained in engagement therewith by at least one screw coupling, the degree of rotation of the screw coupling(s) serving to determine the variation in circumference of the ring member.

  • Patent number: 4087242
Abstract: A polyester yarn is treated, so that it may be dyed in yarn or fabric form to a variegated appearance, by running partially oriented polyester feeder yarn over a surface wetted with a liquid reagent which alters the affinity of the yarn to a disperse dye, followed by drawing or draw-texturing. The surface may be a groove formed across the tip of a capillary tube wherein the groove is wetted by a liquid reagent supplied through the bore of the tube. Intermittent contact between the feeder yarn and the reagent is thereby obtained.
