  • Patent number: 9696169
Abstract: The described principles provide a method and system for identifying a potentially closed road based on reroute requests, and of accommodating the potential road closure while continuing to test the road status periodically via routing decisions and rerouting requests. While the optimal route assumes that the potentially closed road is open, a replacement route is defined assuming that the potentially closed road is closed. A fraction of users are sent along the optimal route, and if a reroute request is received, the potentially closed road is assumed to be closed still. The affected user is rerouted to a recovery route that matches the optimal route up to the potentially closed road, and then differs from the optimal route thereafter to avoid the potentially closed road.

An example method includes monitoring request messages output from the web application; determining one or more of the request messages include an indication that the one or more request messages represent a request to implement an action that can be performed via one or more resources of a client device, and providing a signal in response thereto; and implementing the action in response to the signal. In a more specific embodiment, the method further includes employing a client request interceptor in communication with the web application to forward requests output by the web application and determined by the interceptor to be requests for native content or functionality to a native behavior dispatcher, which communicates with a native container application to facilitate implementing the action.

  • Patent number: RE46480
Abstract: The present invention is a laser ranging device that incorporates an internal tilt sensor, an internal temperature sensor, and an internal pressure sensor. The tilt sensor is used to measure the target's vertical angle relative to the horizontal reference plane. Digital signal processing circuitry controls the firing of the laser pulse, calculation of time-of-flight range, measurement of the vertical angle of the tilt sensor, measurement of ambient temperature and storage of tilt sensor and temperature sensor calibration data. The digital signal processing circuitry then provides the user temperature corrected ballistic ranging information, including corrected horizontal range. Additionally, an automatic gain control system minimizes the effects of target to target variance in reflectivity and its associated errors. It is also an object of this invention to electronically minimize errors in the measurement of a vertical angle caused by housing vibration and by temperature variance errors.
