  • Patent number: 10752496
Abstract: Methods are provided for manufacturing well-controlled, solid-state nanopores and arrays thereof. In one aspect, methods for manufacturing nanopores and arrays thereof exploit a physical seam. One or more etch pits are formed in a topside of a substrate and one or more trenches, which align with the one or more etch pits, are formed in a backside of the substrate. An opening is formed between the one or more etch pits and the one or more trenches. A dielectric material is then formed over the substrate to fill the opening. Contacts are then disposed on the topside and the backside of the substrate and a voltage is applied from the topside to the backside, or vice versa, through the dielectric material to form a nanopore. In another aspect, the nanopore is formed at or near the center of the opening at a seam, which is formed in the dielectric material.

  • Patent number: 10750677
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein describe systems and methods associated with light mounting systems. Embodiments may include lighting shelves that are configured to be mounted to a fixed structure, such as to a wall or supports within a room via a cantilever design that is mounted to strut channels. The lighting shelves may be anchored at only a single end to the strut channels, and the lighting shelves may protrude away from the strut channels. The lighting shelves may have a sufficient width and length to cover an entire region of interest below the lighting shelves, which may enable to lighting shelves to uniformly distribute light to plants.

  • Patent number: 10751492
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system and method for use of acoustic reflectometry information in ventilation devices. The system and method includes a speaker to emit sound waves into an intubated endotracheal tube (“ETT”) and a microphone to detect returning acoustic reflections. In addition, the system and method includes a reflectometry device in communication with a ventilation device for analyzing timings and amplitudes of the returning acoustic reflections to determine a size of a passageway around an ETT tip, location and size of ETT obstructions, and relative movement of the ETT tip within a trachea. The reflectometry device is also configured to determine a resistance parameter representative of resistance to actual flow of air through the ETT based upon a function of the diameter of the ETT, length of the ETT, and percent obstruction of the ETT, where the resistance parameter is used to calculate the tracheal pressure.

  • Patent number: 10755035
Abstract: In an approach to determining one or more logical breaks in a digital text, a computer determines a reading speed of a user for a current reading session of a digital text and an available time for the current reading session for the user. The computer then determines, based, at least in part, on the reading speed and the available time, a user range in the digital text for the current reading session, and then one or more possible logical breaks within the user range. The computer further determines a first logical break, based on the determined user range, of the one or more possible logical breaks for the current reading session.

  • Patent number: 10751749
Abstract: A spray roller system for application of architectural paints coating, includes an extension tube, a spray head mounted on a distal end of the extension tube, and the in-line valve with a trigger mounted on a proximal end of the extension tube, and a roller handle removable mounted on the extension tube adjacent the spray head. The spray roller system can spray and back roll a coating on a down stroke and roll on each up stroke. When the roller handle is removed from the extension tube, it can be used to hand roll sensitive wall areas. With the roller handle removed, extension tube, spray head, and in-line valve can be used as a spray extension to apply coatings in hard to reach areas.

  • Patent number: 10757031
Abstract: Technologies for aligning network flows to processing resources include a computing device having multiple processing nodes, a network switch, and a network controller operating in a software-defined network. Each processing node of the computing device may include a processor, memory, and network adapter. The network switch may receive a network packet and request forwarding information from the network controller. The network controller may determine flow information corresponding to the network packet that indicates the application targeted by the network packet and the processing node executing the application. The flow information may be transmitted to the computing device, which may program a flow filter in the network adapter of the processing node executing the application.

  • Patent number: 10756968
Abstract: A management process monitors a cloud, such as a hybrid cloud, for utilization policy compliance rather than burdening requesting users. A hybrid cloud system requests an action directly of a cloud interface process that processes the request using a management process or externally, such as directly through a cloud service. Users complying with utilization policies are able directly to implement actions or resource allocations without the burden of policy enforcement processes intervening at a time an action is requested.

  • Patent number: 10757216
Abstract: A network-based enterprise or other system that makes items available for selection to users may implement group profiles for group item recommendations. A request for item recommendations offered via the network-based enterprise may be received. Multiple user accounts of the network-based enterprise may be detected as associated with the request. A group profile that includes the detected user accounts may be identified. Group profiles may maintain behavioral data for the respective user accounts included in the group profiles, as well as behavioral data for the group profile as a whole. Item recommendations may be generated according to the group profile and provided to the detected users. Group profiles may available across multiple systems and devices so that item recommendations based on a group profile may be provided to different systems.

  • Patent number: 10757249
Abstract: A communication device and system are disclosed for providing communication and data services to residents of a controlled facility. The device can be restricted to communicating only using an internet protocol so as to restrict the device communication to an internal intranet. Wireless access points may be disposed throughout the environment to route calls and data between the device and a central processing center. By converting a protocol of the communications received from the device to a protocol used by the central processing center, minimal modifications to the central processing center are needed to support a wireless communication infrastructure. Many restrictions and safeguards may be implemented within the phone and system in order to prevent improper use.
