  • Patent number: 8366177
Abstract: The present invention relates to a unique multi-purpose towed trailer unit having an aerodynamic streamlined configuration which results in less drag on the towing vehicle-trailer combination compared with drag resulting from the use of a bluff body trailer and a towing vehicle. At rest, the trailer is used in combination with a collapsible self-supporting deployable shelter which is stored in the interior of the trailer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 7, 2010
Date of Patent: February 5, 2013
    Assignee: DHS Systems LLC
    Inventor: A. Jon Prusmack
  • Patent number: 8082938
Abstract: Collapsible portable self-supporting shelter structures having from at least two component quad sections to seven or more component quad sections, which joined end to end form the width of the structure; and, said entire component sections optionally being joined side to side form a desired depth of the portable shelter. The resulting structure is a collapsible self-supporting prefabricated deployable shelter having a clear span interior without supporting columns. Some versions of the collapsible portable self-supporting shelter structure due to its configuration may optionally contain a floating hub which is a top element extending above the structure's standard exterior matrix frame. The floating hub forms a high pitch atop the shelter, which high pitch causes the fabric, which covers the matrix frame, to be maintained in a taut downward-sloping condition over the shelter top surface so no rain or snow collects in the fabric at the top of the shelter.

  • Patent number: 7546845
Abstract: A double tang articulating hub assembly used in combination with a collapsible self-supporting structure. The double tang articulating hub assembly is used as a connector among tubular rod elements which together provide a generally tubular frame matrix used to erect a collapsible self-supporting prefabricated deployable structure where a clear span interior without supporting columns is required. The hub employs a plurality of one piece “forked plugs” each containing a cylindrical plug with two tangs and an integral post connecting the tangs allowing the forked plug to rotate.

  • Patent number: 7481235
Abstract: A collapsible self-supporting structure used in combination with an improved articulating hub assembly. The articulating hub assembly is used as a connector among tubular rod elements which together provide a generally tubular frame matrix used to erect a collapsible self-supporting prefabricated deployable structure where a clear span interior without supporting columns is required.

  • Patent number: 5797695
Abstract: An articulation hub assembly which connects tubular rod elements comprises the frame matrix for portable collapsible self-supporting prefabricated structures requiring clear span interiors with no supporting columns. In the event a rod element secured by the hub assembly is fractured, the hub assembly is disassembled easily to allow replacement of the rod element.
