  • Patent number: 12007985
Abstract: A distributed database system receives and executes a transaction including a first modification statement describing a first modification operation on a subset of records, a second modification statement describing a second modification operation on the subset of records, and a commit statement. Responsive to executing the first and second modification statements, the system receives a copy of the subset of records from data servers; performs the first modification operation to generate a first modified subset of records; and performs the second modification operation on the first modified subset of records. Responsive to executing the commit statement, the system stores the second modified subset of records in a commit table and causes the subset of records to be updated at the data servers.

  • Patent number: 12005177
Abstract: The present invention discloses a self-sealing cannula and methods of its use. The self-sealing cannula can be minimally invasively placed into the heart for drawing and/or returning blood with a self-sealing function at the interface of the blood access site. The disclosed cannula can be implemented as a single lumen cannula or a double lumen cannula, which can be used with ventricular assist devices for heart support or pump-oxygenators for ECMO and respiratory support. Through a self-sealing mechanism fixed on the ventricular wall or atrial wall, a cannula body is attached to the self-sealing fixture and blood is drawn into the lumen via an external pump and returned to the circulation system through a separate cannula. In the case of the double lumen cannula embodiment, the blood will be drawn into the drainage lumen of the double lumen cannula and returned through an infusion lumen at the desired location.

  • Patent number: 11982171
Abstract: Systems and methods for automated drilling control and optimization are disclosed. Training data, including values of drilling parameters, for a current stage of a drilling operation are acquired. A reinforcement learning model is trained to estimate values of the drilling parameters for a subsequent stage of the drilling operation to be performed, based on the acquired training data and a reward policy mapping inputs and outputs of the model. The subsequent stage of the drilling operation is performed based on the values of the drilling parameters estimated using the trained model. A difference between the estimated and actual values of the drilling parameters is calculated, based on real-time data acquired during the subsequent stage of the drilling operation. The reinforcement learning model is retrained to refine the reward policy, based on the calculated difference. At least one additional stage of the drilling operation is performed using the retrained model.

  • Patent number: 11873707
Abstract: A system and method for controlling a drilling tool inside a wellbore makes use of projection of optimal rate of penetration (ROP) and optimal controllable parameters such as weight-on-bit (WOB), and rotations-per-minute (RPM) for drilling operations. Optimum controllable parameters for drilling optimization can be predicted using a data generation model to produce synthesized data based on model physics, an ROP model, and stochastic optimization. The synthetic data can be combined with real-time data to extrapolate the data across the WOB and RPM space. The values for WOB an RPM can be controlled to steer a drilling tool. Examples of models used include a non-linear model, a linear model, a recurrent generative adversarial network (RGAN) model, and a deep neural network model.

  • Patent number: 11875478
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for dynamically smoothing images based on network conditions to adjust a bitrate needed to transmit the images. Content in the images is smoothed to reduce the quantity of bits needed to encode each image. Filtering the images modifies regions including content having a high frequency of pixel variation, reducing the frequency, so the pixel colors in the region appear “smoothed” or homogeneous. In other words, a region of an image showing a grassy lawn has a high frequency of variation from pixel to pixel resulting from the fine detail of separate blades of grass that may be similar in color, but not homogeneous. Encoding the region as a single shade of green (or multi-pixel regions of different shades of green) enables a viewer to recognize it as a grassy lawn while greatly reducing the number of bits needed to represent the region.
