  • Publication number: 20130227332
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide systems and methods for recovering a failed data summarization. According to one embodiment, recovering a failed instance can comprise processing existing summarization instances identified as instances for which a new data summarization instance needs to wait. Upon a completion or a timeout of each of the instances identified as instances for which the new data summarization instance needs to wait, an exclusive lock can be acquired on a table storing scope information for the plurality of data summarization instances. One or more existing data summarization instances that match the new data summarization instance or that have an overlapping scope with the new data summarization instance can be processed, remaining tasks to be performed by the new data summarization instance can be defined, the exclusive lock can be released, and the remaining tasks to be performed by the new data summarization instance can be performed.

  • Publication number: 20130070828
Abstract: A high-sensitivity receiver may be made by using multiple demodulators to demodulate a given signal. For example, the receiver may use a first demodulator to demodulate an input signal into a first sequence of soft bits and a second demodulator to demodulate the same input signal into a second sequence of soft bits. The two sequences of soft bits may then be compared and combined to create a sequence of hard bits. For example, in some embodiments, a soft bit combiner may combine the two sequences of soft bits into a third sequence of soft bits, which may then be input into a decoder to produce the final decoded hard bits. The secondary demodulator may be less complex, less expensive, demand less power, and/or require fewer computational resources when operating, than the first demodulator.

  • Publication number: 20130064331
Abstract: Techniques for decoding repeated messages sent from a transmitter are improved with information obtained from the decoding of the first transmission and by augmenting Chase combining techniques with a voting-based combining method. In an example method, first encoded bits corresponding to a first instance of the repeated message and demodulated to obtain first soft bits, which are decoded to obtain first decoded bits. Second encoded bits corresponding to a second instance of the repeated message are demodulated to obtain second soft bits. The first decoded bits are re-encoded to obtain re-encoded bits. Sign values for modified soft bits are determined from sign values for the first soft bits, the sign values for the second soft bits, and the sign values for the re-encoded bits. The modified soft bits are combined with the first soft bits and decoded.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product for providing policy inheritance between Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) is presented. The systems disclosed herein are able to convey, from a designated (i.e., first) VLAN to a roaming (i.e., second) VLAN, mobility VLAN policies enabled at the designated VLAN that are not provided at the roaming VLAN. In operation, example embodiments of the present invention detect a roaming mobile unit in the roaming VLAN. VLAN policies for the mobile unit are then requested from a VLAN server mobility switch in the designated VLAN. VLAN policies are then received and applied in the roaming VLAN.

  • Publication number: 20130041871
Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards a system and method for a cloud-based front end that may abstract and enable access to the underlying cloud-hosted elements and objects that may be part of a multi-tenant application, such as a search application. Search objects may be employed to access indexed objects. An amount of indexed data accessible to a user may be based on an index storage limit selected by the user, such that data that exceeds the index storage limit may continue to be indexed.
