  • Patent number: 6565588
Abstract: Intralumenal material removal systems are provided using an advanceable, rotatable and expandable cutter assembly. The intralumenal material removal system includes a cutter assembly positionable in the lumen of a mammalian subject and operably connected to system controls. The cutter assembly comprises a distal cutting head and an adjustable cutting assembly that is axially advanceable by translating the drive shaft and rotatable by rotating the drive shaft. The adjustable cutting assembly is adjustable between a smaller diameter condition and a larger diameter condition. The cutter may thus be introduced to and withdrawn from the material removal site in a retracted, smaller diameter condition that facilitates translation and navigation of the device through various lumens. The adjustable cutting assembly may be selectively expanded at the material removal site to facilitate cutting, removal and aspiration of the occlusive material.

  • Publication number: 20030092652
Abstract: The present invention, as noted above, relates generally to the incorporation of plasmid into a conventional dosage form, and more particularly to the production of a single-vial, homogenized, plasmid/polymer complex with desirable physical characteristics. Methods of making, storing and using such a complex are also provided and described in detail below. Such products and methods will provide more convenient and cost-effective complexes, which will be protected against chemical degradation and/or physical aggregation of its components and will provide for relative ease of administration. Thus, the present invention provides a more efficient complex for plasmid delivery and a method of incorporation of that plasmid into a conventional dosage form.

  • Patent number: 6563618
Abstract: Prior art attempts to reduce the power consumption demands of dual infrared transceiver laptop computer designs have.included enabling and disabling infrared ports at the user level. This solution requires the computer user to be involved in decision making with respect to infrared peripheral device discovery, and adds complexity to the overall infrared communications experience. Post connection dual IrDA port power management implements the infrared transceiver power down decision making in software, based upon activity inputs from the infrared link controller. Minor changes to the link controller at its device driver improve the user experience and the power consumption in dual IrDA port configurations.

  • Patent number: 6551432
Abstract: An automotive quality paint coat is laminated to the exterior surface of a molded plastic car body panel. In one embodiment, the paint coat includes an exterior clear coat above a color coat. The clear coat and color coat are each coated on a temporary flexible casting sheet and dried. A high gloss surface is transferred to the clear coat from the casting sheet. The paint coat is then transferred from the casting sheet to a thin, semi-flexible thermoformable plastic backing sheet by dry paint transfer-laminating techniques. The resulting laminate is thermoformed into a complex three-dimensional shape of the car body panel. The preformed laminate is then bonded to a plastic substrate material by injection-cladding techniques to form the finished article. The paint coat has sufficient elongation to retain exterior automotive appearance and durability properties during thermoforming without deglossing.

  • Publication number: 20030069388
Abstract: A low molecular weight, tertiary amide terminated polyamide may be blended with a liquid hydrocarbon to form a transparent composition having gel consistency, and this gel may be used to formulate a cosmetic. The tertiary amide terminated polyamide may be prepared by reacting “x” equivalents of dicarboxylic acid wherein at least 50% of those equivalents are from polymerized fatty acid, “y” equivalents of diamine such as ethylene diamine, and “z” equivalents of a monofunctional reactant having a secondary amine group as the only reactive functionality. The stoichiometry of the reaction mixture is preferably such that 0.9≦{x/(y+z)}≦1.1 and 0.1≦{z/(y+z)}<0.7. The gel contains about 5-50% tertiary amide terminated polyamide, with the remainder preferably being pure hydrocarbon.
