Publication number: 20230376963Abstract: In an embodiment, systems and methods for reviewing payments using artificial intelligence are provided. Training data is collected that includes payments made by insurance payors for claims received from medical providers. The payments may have been verified as correct and include metadata about the associated claim such as the medical service and whether the claim was in or out of network. The training data is used to train a model that predicts a payment amount for a claim from a medical provider for an insurance payor. When a payment is received, the model is used to predict the payment amount for the payment. The predicted amount is compared with the actual payment amount and is used to determine if the payment is anomalous. If the payment is anomalous, it is provided to an auditor who checks the payment for compliance with a contract between the payor and the provider.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 23, 2022Publication date: November 23, 2023Inventors: Christopher Mayer, Balaji Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, Jessie Lilly, James McCarter Taylor, Miguel Moisés Serrano, Sarah Paik, Loganandh Natarajan, Natalia Elizabeth Sturgill Lynch

Publication number: 20230285192Abstract: The present technology is directed to implantable medical devices for draining fluid from a first body region to a second body region. Some embodiments of the present technology provide adjustable devices that are selectively titratable to provide various levels of therapy. For example, the adjustable devices can have a drainage element with a lumen extending therethrough, a flow control element, and an actuation assembly. The actuation assembly can drive movement of the flow control element to change a dimension of and/or a flow resistance through the lumen, thereby increasing or decreasing the relative drainage rate of aqueous from an eye. In some embodiments, the actuation assembly and the flow control element together operate as a ratchet mechanism that can selectively move the flow control element between a plurality of positions and lock the device in a desired configuration until further actuation of the actuation assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 30, 2023Publication date: September 14, 2023Inventors: Robert Chang, Tom Saul, Claudio Argento, Eric Schultz, Katherine Sapozhnikov, Richard Lilly, Michael Drews

Patent number: 11746183Abstract: In an illustrative example, one or more coating formulations may be used and may have characteristics useful in different situations. During evaluations, a plurality of coating formulations comprising epoxy resins and diamine hardeners were prepared and evaluated with regards to impact ice adhesion strength and durability. Alone, such coating formulations provided a significantly reduced impact ice adhesion strength as compared to uncoated aluminum and/or stainless steel surfaces. However, a durability of the coatings, when applied to aluminum or stainless steel surfaces, was insufficient to be considered for use on external aircraft surfaces. By including nano-sized and/or micro-sized particles as additives to the coating formulations, resulted in improved durability without significantly reducing ice adhesion performance of the resin base.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 2019Date of Patent: September 5, 2023Assignee: United States of America as represented by the Administrator of NASAInventors: Christopher J.
