Abstract: A biopsy punch apparatus includes a hollow handle that has an open handle top and an open handle bottom. A ring-like finger rest is attached to the hollow handle such that the finger rest projects outwardly from the hollow handle. An inwardly tapering, hollow transition member has a top end and a bottom end, and the top end is connected to the open handle bottom. The bottom end of the transition member extends away from the hollow handle. A circular cutting blade is connected to the bottom end of the transition member. The cutting blade has a cutting edge. The cutting edge includes a bevelled cutting edge which tapers from inside to outside the cutting blade. An outside surface of the hollow handle includes ridges and valleys for providing an increase coefficient of friction between a practitioner's fingers and the hollow handle.
